Didn't really know where to post this.

Where can I get one for cheap? I see no reason why they cost nearly $100 at places like futureshop.

Also I bought one of those tape deck ones for an old van I have but it just plays music for a few seconds then spits the tape back out, any idea why?

The FM transmitters I have used in the past where total crap, I bought two and did pay from $70-100 each. Unless someone can give some love on a certain model, avoid these unless there is a return policy in place.

For $100 you can buy a new CD/MP3/iPod player. Not the best but better than a crap FM set up.

Does the cassette deck spit out all cassettes or just the one? Some cassettes get tight and this jams the deck so the deck pukes it out.

XS Didn't have any FM transmitters.

And I agree the one I had I bought one eBay for about $10.00 ($80.00 in store) it wasn't very good and I couldn't imagine people really paid that much for the piece of junk.

I'll have to try and find an old cassette around here.

This exact one @ crappy tire (do not get the white one, only has 3 freq options, this black one has pretty much all in FM range), i have been using since late last year, even through winter (whereas every since one of my 4 belkin and monster xmiters have broken due to poor soldering quality in -20 weather), has USB, Ipod and 3.5 mm jack (you will have to buy a 3.5mm male to male to connect to whatever youre connecting tho), it goes on sale about every 2 months i've noticed, on sale atm for $12.

If you have a iPod, I can sell you my used Monster FM Transmitter for $25. Regular was $70 to $80.

i have the one with the limited channel selection, but it was $10 at Canadian Tire.
Very strong signal. the only connector is the ipod connection.
it works for what I needed it to do.
Just so you know, the clamp barely fits an iphone 4 with a case.

it works and its 10 bucks

My buddy has the white one and it works pretty well.

Make sure you have a cigarette lighter plug-in in a good location though, because the cord for it is only like 2 inches long so you can't change songs on the fly if it's in a shitty spot (Not that you would do that anyway what with the distracted driver legislation and such these days ;) ).

This is the one I've been using for the past 3-4 years and so far no problems. Plus this one even sounds 10x better then some of expensive $100 future shop ones my friends have.

First off from most the reviews i've read on that unit its not as great as you make it out to be. Don't blame futureshop they just sell the products, blame the manufacturer if your not satisfied.
One factor with fm transmitters can be the vehicle its installed in. In general I'm not a fan of FM transmitters their a short term solution till you get a deck that has AUX USB or A2DP. for those on a tighter budget i highly recommend getting an auxillary or ipod cable hooked up to your factory system. depending on the vehicle its usually under $150, but that gives you clear sound. You wont run into the problem of bad sound quality or picking up the country music of the douche parked beside you at a red light (lol happened more than once to me)

Paid a penny for mine with free shipping on Ebay, it overpowers $80 transmitters.
