There is a place right behind Deerfoot Mall - Ornamental Garden(Ithink) that used to sell wood. Also Bluegrass in Balzac sells it- not sure which direction you are heading.

If you're only looking for a bit for the weekend, you can come pick some up at my place for free. I live out that way and will be back home early afternoon tomorrow/all evening.

There is also a place called Edward's Garden Centre located right before Calaway Park that sells firewood.
