Buyer beware. Sounds like this person didn't do their homework first to make sure this 'mechanic' was qualified and competent enough to do the work.

It's a trap!!

I doesn't matter how bad that guys English is, you'd think anyone trying to run a legit business would think hey maybe I should turn spell check on or hey ask someone to read over my ad. So when you see garbage posts like that, run for the hills because this guy doesn't even give a damn about spelling so what makes you think he cares about doing quality work.

Btw copynpaste in grade four we also learned that it is spelled grammar not grammer. :D

He gets alone with his work mates and puts the raping on...:poosie:

I don't know why you guys are surprised, it sounds about right for Beyond, it isn't any better here. It's everywhere, if you go to the corner of Twelfth Avenue and Fifth Street downtown, you'll see "Twelfth" written in the cement on the corner as the names are written on every corner except it reads, "Twelth." No F.

I just coincidentally stumbled on this thread. I was literally at this guys house 2 hours ago and gave him a deposit of $100 for some truck parts that he says he has at his shop in Lethbridge. He told me he has an acreage with over 100 cars and that he has the parts I need but will need to pick them up some time this week. I was a little cautious at first because he wanted to meet in the Atlas Pizza parking lot but I told him I'd come to his house (I felt a little more comfortable knowing where he lived). He also had no problem writing me a receipt for my deposit. Either I got a good deal on some parts or I got hosed. Time to see how this pans out...

Time to see how this pans out... say good bye to your money, the kids name is noodles, he stole a frickin' transit bus the other summer to joyride around the SE with. he's well known amongst a group of my friends as noodles because he's literally as dumb as a bag of cooked noodles.

And if yes, did you think you got more spam after you signed up there? Bcz as of now my spam volumes have shrunk and I'm trying to keep it that way... but I am tempted to sign up there....

This being a car enthusiast forum, of course people are going to go for an above qualified mechanic.

But after watching Gold Rush season four, and their absolute bottom scraping used parts to repair everything. Well, as long as its functional and functional fast that is whats important for some.

http://english.caixin.com/2012-07-16/100411411_1.html

For the vast majority, cost is the limiting factor. Will a 13-year old mechanic do a good job? Probably not, but hey - they gotta start somewhere.

A mechanic took one of my S4's to Bragg Creek and back without checking with me first (or putting gas in it) to "calibrate the MAF", that was the end of that. There was no problem with the MAF.

http://calgaryherald.com/news/crime/charges-laid-following-lengthy-investigation-into-vehicle-parts-and-repair-fraud-scheme

I bet this guy has a terrible Beyond marketplace rating.
A man has been charged in connection with a nationwide fraud scheme in which payment was accepted for vehicle repairs or the purchase of auto parts, but the services or items were never delivered and the money never returned.

Calgary police said they first received a complaint in November from a man in Newfoundland who claimed he had sent money for a vehicle part advertised on a buy-and-sell site, but never received the part. In addition, he was unable to reach the seller to get his money back.

Following a lengthy investigation, police learned more than 50 people across Canada had been victimized in the same type of scam.

In most cases, the victims placed online ads looking for specific auto parts and were contacted by a man who purportedly had the items they were looking for. The man would request payment upfront or a deposit to cover the cost of shipping.

After receiving the payment by e-transfer or wire transfer, the man didn’t send the parts or return the money, police said.

In other reports, the man would allegedly offer to conduct mechanical work on a vehicle — demanding payment upfront — and take the vehicle home. Then he would either not complete the work or claim the vehicles had been stolen.

Last week, thanks to assistance from the RCMP, the Saskatoon Police Service, the Hamilton Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, city police made an arrest in Calgary’s southeast.

Jeffrey John Keizer, 26, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of theft of a motor vehicle and 10 counts of fraud under $5,000.

Keizer — who also goes by the names Jack Van Der Van, Kyle Brown and Kenny MacDonald — is expected in court on Friday.Pretty crazy he had so many victims before someone put the cuffs on him.
