VMWare is still the way to go, until Microsoft gets their act together with Hyper-V. Still a ways to go.

Def VMware. I am setting up a lab at home finally to try out Hyper-V more intensly in clustering ect, just to stay in the know, cuz all we use at work is VMware.

Can't really go wrong with Vmware at the moment, but always a good idea to keep in the know on competing technologies as well.

I wont finish school for another 3-4 years (comp sci) that's why I ask.

Dont want it to be like I study on HP Tablet Hardware and when I graduate it's over.

I use both ESX and Hyper-V at the workplace depending on what the client wants. Both are good to know as they both have their advantages.

VMWare looks like they are going to be charging for memory and CPU's now. Unless they plan to change their model. VMWare is going to price themselves out of smaller businesses if they plan to keep that up.
