Yea it's been awhile for me personally but I need to buy another vehicle.

0-60 in <7
AWD
Automatic
Remote starter can be installed
10L/100kms min city/hwy
$40K

I can think of Subaru Forester 2.5XT and Acura RDX. I'm sure there are more options. :burnout:

I'm too lazy to look but can you get an A3 Quattro w/DSG for under $40? That would be my pick as you aren't going to get 10L/100kms with a WRX or Ralliart in the city and anything else is going to be boring.

Ford Fusion AWD? :dunno:

Quickly went online. Fully fully loaded Fusion is ~35K. Remote starter and all.

~250HP. Not too bad?

No remote starter for the Audi's and must be automatic. I can no longer stand shifting through the gears lol

I drive a lot, my GTI just rolled over 50,000kms. I have 30k left on the lease and 26 months to go. :nut:

I might just say screw it and buy the new base Impreza. Just cheap all around but I'm use to having a little bit of passing power on the streets and that car might just be as slow as dog shit, all the time. :burnout:

MINI Countryman might fit the bill...

328xi?
Perhaps A4 or C300 4matic, there is otherwise IS250 AWD, G25X etc.

I don't know. I'd probably go for the Ralliart. Yes I don't think highly of the DCT but its under warranty and it should be ok with the detune.

A base impreza? Don't kid yourself, you'll be over that car in month.

I was expecting launch control on that list too

If you don't mind the looks, the Nissan Juke fits the bill and can be had for just a bit over $30K for the top model. I took a couple for test drives in the last week and it's definitely on the short list for my next vehicle.

I don't think I can stand the look of the Juke! haha

Ford Fusion sounds mighty interesting. Even the 328XI, never thought of that. I remember Joe at AutoTech saying he can put remote starters into BMW's, no problem. He couldn't do Benz/Vw or Audi.

Bleh 335i or go home IMO. I couldn't see you drive anything less.

Ralliart fits in most of your criteria to be honest, and the fun factor will be there (at least way better than the other options that are sloooow).

Here's a guy who did his Q5 in Edmonton using a the Smart Start App and a AstroStart starter. I will probably do this to my A3.

The Lancer Ralliart seems like your best bet.

I don't think the Ralliart and WRX are good choices for him because he is looking for a refined car. Sure they will go like stink if you mod them, but for an everyday car they are horrible. Shitty interiors, crappy paint, etc will not make a good DD. I'd go find a used 335 which can be modded or driven around without the interior rattling, but MPG sucks on them.

Just suck up the extra 13 g's and go for a Evo MR...

Check out the Kia Sportage SX Turbo. $36K loaded 260hp good mileage too.

We have a 2.5 Forester and my father in law has a 2.5XT Forester both 4spd auto latest gen. The turbo is like night and day difference. Even with 4spd it's a very quick SUV. He averages ~10L/100kms in the city

You will not get a new 328xi for anywhere near $40K. It will be closer to 50K or higher.

There's lots of CPO 328xi to be had for under $40k, even a couple 335xi that can be had.

Hmmm... Kia or BMW?

Legacy GT should do it.

This pretty much describes the Mitsubishi Outlander S-AWC. We bought ours in January, and overall I'm pretty happy with it. The only issue I have is some of the plastic on the inside marks pretty easy. The other thing is I'm not totally thrilled with the NAV.. having the option to adjust everything is great, but I think day to day I'd prefer the Garmin (kenwood DNX series) nav system via aftermarket.. about half the cost, and much nicer GPS.

Also, the paddle shifting is pretty fun, lotsa room, and is generally a nicer ride than the Kia or Hyundai. I average overall driving city/hwy 9.1L/100k.. if you do 110kph you can get 6L out of it.. 130 is 9-10L. Also can tow a tent trailer no problem.

Edit: sorry.. missed the 0-60 time.. yeah.. The outlander isn't doing that...more like mid 7's..

I was just shopping for something simmilar...but decided to spend less and buy a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT with some minor mods. Puts it over 300hp. Maybe think of something like that?

Other than that, if you looking at new, I'd seriously consider the Lexus IS250 AWD.

The Kia actually looks like a decent vehicle and the engine has some EVO DNA.

Cars still come with 4-speed automatics? That must be a little loud on the highway. Even my wifes old 2007 Outlander has a 6-speed automatic.

A lot of good ideas and some cars I wouldn't think of otherwise. Thank you my friends. I'm very open for this second vehicle. Last month I put over 4300kms on the GTI. It was a record breaker and I didn't even travel anywhere.

New or used isn't a big deal as long as the deal is right. :D

Rav4 comes with a 4spd as well in the 4 cyl trim. Around town makes no difference really. Cruising on the highway is no different than a 5 or 6 spd auto but any slight touch of gas pedal makes it down shift which is annoying. Haven't taken the turbo out on the highway so dont know if it's different.

Subaru has started putting CVTs in everything and Forester is the last one to get new transmission. I think I'd rather have a 4spd auto than a CVT

Max power output: 300 hp at 5000 rpm
Max torque: 325 lb/ft. at 2,100-4,200 rpm
Acceleration 0–100 km/h: 6.1 sec

Granted, the S60 is a tad bit over your price ($45 new), but there are some specials on right now for the s60

Last I looked, they had some wicked deals on <1 year old vehicles.

We have a brand new loaded to the hilt sport Fusion AWD as our company vehicle up in Fort McMurray. I love it! It rides great, handles well, the awd works perfect, and the sound the V6 makes is to die for at 7,000rpm! Plus, the cruise control works very well, along with the manual mode on the tranny does whatever you ask it (slight delay, but not a significant amount, and will bounce off the rev limiter all day long).

There are two things I hate about it though: NO steering feel (it handles well, but I believe it is electric power steering = very little feedback) and the brakes are s00per over boosted. The pedal is really light and squishy at the top, and then you apply a bit more pressure and your eyeballs almost pop out of their sockets.

If you can't deal with the tupperware interiors of Subaru's and the domestics, might be wise to stick with the euros.
Only comes in 2 door, and I'm uncertain about the remote starter installation.

They're rare though, and not overly fast, but very refined & solid. Your FWD GTi is probably faster.

Here's one in Vancouver for sale.

2008 VW R32. DSG. It's got the boat anchor VR.

My 2010 WRX I get 8.6 L/100 in 50/50 city/hwy driving. Yeah I drive gently.

There were some 328xi lease deals back in July. Check your Friday Herald and see what deals are out there.

BTW, don't you have enough cars? :nut:
