View Full Version : Poll: How many hours a week do you work?

I thought there was a poll on this before but I couldn't find it. For full time people, no part time or students. Multiple part time jobs count if you are 40 hrs a week or over. For people that work field 2 weeks on 1 off etc. just average out what it works out to weekly.

Just want to see what the average is around.

Roughly 35 when I'm on days, 30 when on evenings. Get paid the same either way.

If I work 70 hours a week it would mean I'm slacking/getting fired soon.

Although this is a legitimate hour range I think it'll attract too many people that don't apply to the OP's demographic which are FT only.

I think this poll needs a little more context and that is whether anything over 40 hours is paid. I read the accounting thread that talked about 60 hour weeks on salary, which blows but working 60 hours where you get paid OT doesnt sound so bad.

I think you'll actually find that MOST full time office type jobs are around the 7.75 hours per week. I work a full time job and do 7.67 hours per day (38.85/week). I think that's close enough to 40 though that people are just making a deal out of nothing. Vote 40 guys :nut:

Yea, actual working hours vs total hours at work varies.

Sorry should have put a 35-40 category.

Doesn't matter in regards to paid or not or overtime paid or not, just looking to see how many people are working the norm 40 and how many are slaving way more hours in.

If a mod wants to add a 35 to 40 or less than 40 feel free to do so.

Sorry, is the question how many hours I'm at work, or how many hours I'm actually working?

Sounds like you're in O&G haha. I love having lots of Fridays off, but it makes the 5 day weeks just drag by :nut:

If I work more than 8 hours in any week, I get depressed.

So I try to limit it to less than one day of work per week. :poosie:

Works out to 40 hrs/week. Any OT is paid.

45 the first week, 36 the second. 9 hours/day with every second Friday off. In a average week I'll probably spend about 15 hours in meetings of some kind, pretty much zero time for anything but work. Insanely busy.
