I'm trying to help my dad out with looking for a used suv. 2007+ for $20,000 and Under 100kms. I know there are a lot of different options out there. I'm hoping to get some suggestions. I don't know much about SUV's/Crossovers.

Right now he says he likes the explorer, sport trac and jeep Cherokee or dodge journey. I think he's only test driven the journey out of all of those. I'm not familiar with any of them. He's not looking for a full size, just a 5 seater. Reliability, comfort, ample storage and fuel economy are top of the list. Don't need 4x4 or anything built for speed or performance.

Thanks guys

How much space is he looking for? You can get a pretty decent Honda CR-V good on fuel or an FJ cruiser.

Honda CR-V would be better than the FJ. 2 door SUV is out of the question. I think he would prefer something on the larger side. So that will cancel out a lot of the smaller models such as compas, liberty, ect. Not sure what how big cr-v, rav4 are though.

can they be found at the price and km range posted?

They look nice, they just seem a little heavier duty then needed. My dad won't be doing any off roading, so the use of 4x4 would only be occasionaly during winter driving. So that sort of jeep seems like kind of a waste for what it would be used for?

How about a Trailblazer or Envoy? I have seen a few 07s-08s with decent km going under or around that $20K mark recently.

That would be my choice if neither fuel economy or compact sizing are important.

Not too familiar with SUVs either, but my mom just got a fully loaded 2007 Ford Edge with 80 000kms for around $16 000

Maybe a FX35? Will probably have to go with an earlier model though...

Okay thanks for the options guys. I'll look into some of those. Do any of you guys actually own or drive any of the listed SUV's so I can get some further feedback, details, info and pro's and cons so I can compare them with other vehicles?
