Can these be put in bridge mode so that the wireless portion of the device is disabled?
The guy on the phone said that it couldn't be done.
All I want this device to do is work like the old surfboard modems...possible?

I disabled the wireless on mine while I worked out some issues.

I have the cisco so I called tech support, and they called me back and changed it by adding a note or something for bridge mode.

Shaw disabled my wifi after activating it then had to reverse it, so they can do it also.

i haven't tried it myself but i heard it CAN be done
think you should just keep calling tech support @ shaw until you find someone who knows how to do it...
so is the only way to tell it is set to bridge is when you get a connection and cant access 192.168.0.1 anymore?
