Just a heads up that the Kaizen tubs are on sale at costco for $8 off from the $39.99, so $31.99. Good deal seeing as how this only goes on sale about twice a year so it is a good idea to buy a couple at once. Vanilla or chocolate are the two flavors, 2.2kg iirc so roughly 5 lbs.

Does it have artificial sweeteners in it? (Aspartame, sucrose, etc.)

Yes it uses splenda. I don't mind that though as it keeps the sugars low, 0.5g/serving.

Is the vanilla any good? I have a tub of Optimum vanilla and it is way too sweet.

I don't find it too sweet. Definitely better than the other brand at costco. With milk it kind of tastes like a vanilla milkshake :dunno:

How is "too sweet" ever a problem? Just mix more liquid :banghead:

Maybe my mixer only holds so much milk, powder, fruit, etc. before it overflows? Relax.

How often does this go on sale? I bought 5 tubs and I've chewed through 2.5 already. Didn't think I'd consume it so quickly.

Anyone know of a good protein shake that does not have artificial sweetners in it? I went to popeyes and everything had some form as an ingredient...

At least 2-3 times a year. A thread always pops up on RFD when it does go on sale

I bought the big one but I hate the taste. Too used to the Six Star one I've bought before.
Anyone wanna buy it off me for $30? I bought it at full price $40 and only used two scoops. It's the chocolate flavoured one.

I don't know if it's good, but there is IsoNatural by Allmax. I use IsoFlex but on Tuesday I'm going to head to Samson's and see if they carry IsoNatural. I just haven't looked for it before.

IsoNatural (http://ca.bodybuilding.com/store/all/natural.html)

Other than that, Quattro by Magnum Nutraceuticals does have sucralose, but it is last in the ingredients and a ways after organic cane sugar, so I wouldn't expect there to be much. The Chocolate Love flavor is still the best tasting, best mixing protein I have ever had. It is a blended protein though for "time release." And they do carry the Magnum line at Popeye's but it's generally very pricey, which is why I only got it once. lol

Superstore has plain whey isolate. Ingredients are: Cold filtered Whey Isolate Protein, Bromelain. It's expensive tho, $30 - 900g.

Picked up 5lbs of IsoNatural for $71.99 + tax today from Samson's (20% off everything first Tuesday of the month, if anyone didn't know).

That's expensive as hell. 4.8lbs of Kaizen is $36 when it's on sale.

Does that include the price of membership? :)

Looking at it more closely:

Kaizen: 35g protein / 40g serving
IsoNatural (unflavored): 28g / 30g

Kaizen: ~54 servings per container = ~1890g of protein
IsoNatural: ~75 servings per container = ~2100g of protein

For whoever cares:

Kaizen: contains sucralose and soy lecithin (likely GMO)
IsoNatural: contains only whey, non-GMO

A whole 2 grams. You get that amount of sugar from various store bought food 10 folds.

Just found this Kaizen Natural Whey Protein while looking for a multivitamin:

Community Natural Foods (http://communitynaturalfoods.com/webstore/kaizen-natural-whey-protein-strawberry-banana-2-3kg.html)

Nothing artificial and non-GMO.

I'll be keeping my eyes open next time I'm in store. I hope it's not just online. Not quite the protein/serving as IsoNatural, but it is $6-$16 cheaper than IsoNatural at 20% off. Plus they have three flavors.
