How much can you expect to knock off? Or what's a good starting point?

Centaur has 3 forester turbos in stock, blue, red and white.

The white just happens to be the demo! lol 1600kms but that's the color I want.

$37K+tax.

I plan to lease, 0.9% over 4 years and 24k/year allowance.

TIA

they usually start with just doing the whole $0.15/km as they would with a lease, but I have had friends talk them into selling them at invoice, and minus $0.15/km.

I would try and find out what dealer invoice on that car would be and go from there, no sense in paying retail for a car that was abused for the first part of its life.

In a way I'm not overly concerned about the mileage because it's a lease. You just drive them differently haha

0.9% is a killer deal on the a lease and 0 down I am looking at $506/month tax in. I'm a monthly payment guy and that payment is sweet for the vehicle.

Markup should be around $3500 I'm guessing if it's on par with the WRX but without verifying car cost, can't be 100% sure.

$0.15X1600 so $240 off? hahaha

It depends on the company. Some dealerships have "writeback" in their demos so that gives them extra margins which can be added as discount. 1600kms is pretty low, maybe $500 off or a free stoneshield?

I always remember Centaur giving stupid deals on thier demos and it always left us in awe... IIRC there is about $2800 mark up in the XT plus any rebates if available. It depends on how fair you want to be. Maybe go in with a $1400-1800 discount plus .50/km :dunno:

0.9% lease rate is crazy good, is that with lease loyalty?

What are the expectations of a new vehicle? I usually expect a new vehicle to have around 100kms to 200kms or am I misinformed?

1600 is low but I don't consider the car new anymore so selling it for same price as new, well you get my point right?

If I bought one of their brand new models and put a 1000kms and try to sell it, depreciation sets in.

0.9% is just the standard 4 year rate. I just came off my WRX lease, maybe they'll give me the loyalty which will bring it down to 0.5% lease haha

new car should be under 30kms I'd say

Here you go man ;)

Looks to be $3400 markup, you qualify for another $500 and lease reduction to 0.5%. I assume you haven't run any triathon's lately so $750 won't apply lol

A new car typically is under 100kms. We picked up our Forester with under 10kms on it iirc. PDI includes a test drive so that's all the mileage that should be on it if it hasn't been driven around.

From what I remember they had tons of Forresters.... and were discounting them fairly heavily when we bought my Wifes WRX. (XT was cheaper then the WRX) Seeing that its also a demo Id expect below or at Wholesale, plus they usually 3m and have rubber mats included.

I'm not a big fan of demo models because of how those cars are typically treated. They are bagged on non-stop, especially the "sportier" kind. For example, when the G35 first came out, you couldn't pay me to take one of those demo models. In demo cars, I've been instructed by the salesperson to "drive it like I stole it" on more than one occasion, haha. A friend's dad bought a "demo" BMW Z4M, and the entire engine had to be replaced not long after (Under warranty, thank goodness). I'm sure some are fine, but I wouldn't touch a demo vehicle based on my experiences and those of my friends.

In regards to Redlyne's comment about writebacks, thats most often used for service demo's such as loaners in which the dealership is given a *write back*. For sales demo's most often there is no write back because its just part of the job, people have to drive the car before they buy it!

The best deals are found on demo vehicles that are auctioned off to dealerships. Say the BMW PGA Championship. during the tournament BMW North America will give a bunch of X5's and 335's etc. to drive the players around and even let the players test drive if they wish. Once the tourny is over those vehicles are auctioned off to all the dealers who wish to buy them and often for a really really good price. Those vehicles may have anywhere from 500-2000 km on them. Also One year employee lease backs are an excellent deal as well.

^^^ this , the sales demos are never good deals and yet I still have people who insist on buying them.
