hey everyone,

so i've been having problems with my bike starting up on COLD days.

On a normal warm day, it fires up right away but on cold days it just won't fire up. It turns over but no spark/start.

I wanted to ride to uni today but since it was cold in the morning (the bike is outside), it just wouldn't fire up; just turned over.

Any help on what the problem could be? and how to resolve it?

thanks for your help!

a) battery is suspect (lower temps, less voltage to the plugs)

b) carbs need tuning/cleaning

c) cold-idle switch isnt working

Well if youre not using the cold idle switch, or choke as its called on some bikes... that would likely be your problem.

It could be all those things but it could also be that your valves are getting tight. Starting problems can be a symptom of valves being out. They should have been done at around 26,000 kms
