A few runs at Dynomotive today yielded some new hp & torque values @ 22-24psi:

491.2 whp @ 7000 rpm

401.4 ft-lbs @ 5900 rpm

Once again, these values are on a Mustang dyno. The 8-12% loss would put actual hp values between 530 & 550 whp @ calgary elevation.

Not quite 500's yet on paper, but getting there. Ignition system prevented me from making any further runs at 24-28psi (the 6AL just isn't designed for the high rpms & high power).

Anyways, I'll post the dyno chart and also a video clip of soem runs this weekend.

ps. anyone have a Digital-6 or so, to lend me for a day?

The only good this extra power is going to do is maybe let me crack into the 11's without improving traction. The 1/4 probably won't be impressive until I fix the majority of my drivetrain (ie. limited slip, new differential, axles, etc.). Videos from last week showed that even my first burnout, and subsequent runs only used the left slick (ie. only the left tire was spinning and heating up - due to lack of LSD). Runs tommorow, if ignition problem is fixed, will most likely not yield times much quicker (though mph may break into the 120s).

taller slicks? 25", 26"? should help traction...

491.2 whp @ 7000 rpm

401.4 ft-lbs @ 5900 rpm

Not when only one is spinning! My 60' times last week were 0.3-0.4 sec slower than when I had a tranny with an LSD.

Unfortunately, probably won't be attending SS tommorow :banghead: . Went for another bag on Deerfoot. 26psi --> problems, 18psi - problems, 16 psi - slight problems, 14 psi - good, 8 psi - good.

If I get it fixed, word will circulate, or i'll let Nick, etc. know.

Till next time,

I drive a 92 Honda Prelude equipped with the non-VTEC H23A 2.3L motor. Then it is turbocharged.

As for lean, etc. that is not related to the problem. Eratic dyno plots showed no power increase past ~5000rpms, even though a/f ratios never went above ~12:1. No changes were made on the map after the 491hp run, except a slight fuel increase past 7000rpm and an increase of boost up to ~24-26 psi (which was not even close to being reached on the next run). After it was backed off to lower boost values and another map was burned (ie. the old 491whp map) the car still failed once boost above 15psi or rpm above 5000 was reached.

Ayyy karamba! You are making us V8 guys look bad.

There haven't been many V8's on my dyno to make that kind of power....

nice job!

Maybe time for a step upto the MSD 7al?

I still find it VERY odd that the rpm pick-up hooked to your car kept crashing my program....never done that before....maybe had a weak plug from the get got causing leakage through the wire?

Leo already switched to the Aquatic wastegate. Cost: $4.27 including GST.

What do you run for plug gaps?

A trick to get both tires spinning in the burnout box is to turn the steering wheel side to side. You can also get a FWD with no LSD to hook up by pre loading the suspension with the sway bar in the front and air bags in the back............................. Then again maybe I shouldn't be telling you this;)

Congrats ,
Their is another honda that is getting pretty fast.
He ran a 117mph at etown, his hood fell off and broke his windshield during the run.He could have gone into the 120's.

you got competition, but his is a full/tubbed drag car.
He will be running the car on the sept22 shoot out in edmonton.
That would be a great race for the fastest FW/honda title.
