I spotted this car while I was down in Vancouver a couple weeks ago. They are blackberry pictures...so the quality isn't the greatest.

Pretty cool. I like the idea that they have 3 doors. The side of the car you didn't take pics of has 2 doors.

I just hate those fake air vents on the hood. I rather have an actual hood than crappy plastic.

Would be nice if it had some power but can't expect much for something that's suppose to be economical.

I must just be too old to like any of hyundai's designs, they seem busy and overwrought to me.

Honda's CRZ even looks better IMO.

It's a stylish, affordable, fuel efficient car that can fit a baby seat in the back.

Nice looking car IMO, I am hating the hatch if it only opens as much as a pasta box.

Holy crap! Just did a bit more research on this car, it actually comes in a Matte Grey colour  ...$18,995 with the base model, comes with push start, 7 inch multimedia display with back up camera.....$285 a month on Hyundai's Future Value Financing (2.9% rate)....for the fully loaded version $23,000 you get the dual cluth auto, panaramic roof and leather (Tech package)....

^

Test drove this at the Hyundai 1 ride event last week. It also comes with the navigation in the tech package for ~$24,000.

That's A LOT of features for $24k.

Canucks3322
09-17-2011, 03:10 PM
Dammn....I dunno know though, for that price you can also get into a fully loaded 2012 Kia Rio which I been reading is gonna be packed with a ton of high end features as well, plus I think I really like the look of the new Rio's more...

MrSector9

Tried one out today, great car, tranny in the auto is pretty smooth, paddle shift things are responsive, all the features are nice, seats feel nice.

Only issue is the power of it, it shifts alot and revs high to get up to speed (100km/h) without going past half throttle and it went up to 5000 rpm a couple times.

As for comparing this to a Kia Rio it would be better and more fitting to compare this to an Accent Sedan, I dont think anyone in their right mind would say you are not paying more for the "sporty look" of this car compared to the others in the lineup

Keep in mind, I am thinking value for the price, and this car with a turbo in the $26,000 range is an unbeatable deal at that price point, considering comparing sticker prices of the cars.

All the features is has makes it pretty sweet. If it had more power it would be perfect for a winter beater. But it has a six speed manual which is really nice for a car of its price

Hmm. I think this is on the shortlist for a 2nd car. The fact that I can put the carseat in the back is the clincher. The outlander can be for the full family outings, but this would work great for short hops and commuting.

the hood on the poor car is pretty heavy. i think there is a lot of weight that can be shed and make this little car pretty dam fast. be interesting if the turbo models has an option for awd. then i'm sold if i dont have my awd winter beater by then

I'm only gonna seriously think about buying one of these if they knock the price down in December....at it's current price it's still not worth it because of the lack of power...but for $16,000 or so I'd take it.......when I was young, I always thought, why can't they make a car that looks cool and fast WITHOUT the actual fast-ness, for us poor folk....well Hyundai has done it, but it's just not cheap enough....

Finally went in and test drove one today....man this thing is probably the slowest car I have ever driven lol...nice growl from the exhaust though but wow...I would say my gf's Accent is faster and this thing IS supposedly heavier than the current Accent with the exact same engine. Pretty nice looking, would be a perfect car if it had decent power.

honestly if you're actually seriously considering the NA version that's out right now why the fk aren't you looking at the accent instead?

1. cheaper (equip an accent to match the velo and its probably 1.5-2 grand less)
2. better city mpg
3. same power/torque
4. way more interior space + ovr practicality
5. seats 5 instead of 4 (comfortably i might add)
6. lighter too (yeah no kidding)

stfu and wait for the fking turbo.
