So with my other thread about the rebuilt status focus being a HUGE POS, the search for my girlfriends car continues.

She is extremely picky.

Her criteria:
-must be auto
-white, red or black in colour
-preferably Japanese made
-above 2006
-under 100,000km
-doesn't want anything "long" such as maximas, accords...etc
-a small car such as civic, lancer...etc no Fit or Yaris

We have been looking at a lot of civics (2006 and up) and lancers (2008 and up). It seems to be really hard to find anything under her criteria, is she just picky or calgary cars are over priced?

Anything that we have come across on kijiji that we seem "a good deal" seems to be rebuilt status....

Thanks in advance!

Yea that came to mind too, but most of the non type s are models are still manual and its hard to find a decent shape and mileage for her budget.

A couple of months ago a friend of mine bought a black 2007 Honda Civic coupe (auto transmission) with under 55,000 KM on it - clean title - for just under $10.5K so it's definitely possible to find these for sale.

I remember I was helping him look for Civics and went through the same kind of thing where we'd find lots of rebuilt cars for sale with the owners asking way too much. I think he spent around a month or so looking at Civics and Mazda 3s before he found his Civic so just take your time.

If you are looking at the civic, you might as well also look at the csx, same car..... I don't know if you will find anything in your price range but it is always worth a try.

Or one thing I don't see mentioned is something like a hyundai accent?

I don't think you can go wrong with a Civic.

Just bought a 2009 pontiac vibe (same car as Toyota Matrix, different sheet metal) with 26k on it for $11,500 last weekend. Matrix or the Vibe are great cars, civic sized yet more practical with the hatch. Figure I just throw it out there.

Mazda Mx-5
In before these actually get suggested ;)
My gf has a 2007 civic with an auto, that car is amazing. She steers towards potholes, speeds up for speed bumps and the car is just beaten on in general, and it's never missed a beat. I'd recommend them to anyone. And you shouldn't have much trouble finding a DX-G for your price range.

Check Saskatoon. It's not far and I've gotten a few smoking deals from there.
