It's still a NISSAN? Does that argument even apply? :nut:

$118k CAD out the door, any discounts?

Does this mean you can abuse the launch control all you want and not have to worry about warranty?

$200K for a Porsche Turbo S ain't happening in this life time but why not a NIssan!!! :burnout:

I was talking to a guy who works at Nissan this past week, and he told me people are spending more on maintenance on a GTR than an exotic :nut:

Damn. Why can't they include a 4-5 year maintenance program and build it in to the price.

Did the MSRP go up? Didn't they start at $95K a few years back?

Brasso was selling them with $10000 in prepaid maintenance last I heard.

Yeah it's gone up every year, 09 were $81,900 but dealers were marking them up heavy in Alberta. The 10's went for $98,900 then the 11's bumped up another $1K and then the 12's now go for $109,900.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the 13's price hike again. Supposedly the MY13 is going to bump up to 570hp.

I now they did this when the 09's first came out, but from what I remember it was additional cost on top of MSRP.

2008: 1 CAD = 101 Yen

Today: 1 CAD = 73 Yen

That's why Japanese are so desperate to build cars in US and Mexico for NA consumption. And besides the upgrades, why GT-R has been moving up in price.

The MSRP has been steadily climbing but as you pointed out, the 2012 one is quite a bit faster than the original, which is actually quite mind boggling if you think about it...

Wow, so this thing can go 0-60 quicker than a liter bike. Pretty amazing.

Why not get a used 997 Turbo? You can get a really nice one for the price of a new GTR. I like both, but the Porsche is way more rounded.

you'll be on the waiting list for a 2013, I think all the 12s are reserved and or sold... unless you pick up a US unit

For sure. I definitely will opt for the Porsche or even the new SLK 55/63 AMG depending what motor comes in that.

The GTR just seem crazy for joining the 0-60 under 3sec club but honestly any car that can do 0-60 in under 4 is way too powerful for me anyway haha

I agree.. anything sub 4.5 is pretty fast, certainly enough to make me happy. With so many to choose from, its more about the complete package to me, and hard to define things like "handling" and overall comfort. Its a hard mix, but the 911 Turbo does it as well as any. The GTR is a bit too hard for my liking, at least as a daily driver.. and its not special enough to be a garaged exotic that doesn't get driven often.

Not true. I work for a local Nissan dealership. 12's are readily avaliable. Just need to be factory ordered.

One let down though.. Even though the wheels are forged and made by Rays, there's kind of .. Um.. :barf:

Yeah those wheels are hideous IMO. So many other styles would have looked better. I think black wheels on most cars look awful, though.

I'm not sure who would take a GT-R over a 997 TT though, now that they are the same price . Seems like a no-brainer to me, even though the Porsche would be a couple years old.

Same price?

MSRP of 997TT in Canada: $160k ($183 for the TT-S)
MSRP of GT-R: $110k.

$50k will buy you what, 5 Accents?

If you're talking new vs. used, that is not a valid comparison either...

Nissan should add a gauge that shows % wise how much the car is driving vs the driver. Then rate you like the hybrids do, something to compare scores with other interweb peoples.

*lol* I wonder how hard it is to create custom gauges on the GTR? I was also thinking it should have a big red warning light that says "This is the shit I had to do to save your sorry ass......"

Someone will make an app...

Could have voice commentary with a japanese woman telling you how shitty your driving and laughing at you while telling you what it had to correct.
