I'm in a really bad situation here, I have bad digestion problems with symptoms.

I do not have a family doctor and I've been going to a walk in clinic but they don't give a shit about there patients, which is expected I guess. I've been through so many tests but they won't refer me to do an endoscopy or colonoscopy which I need..

Is there any where in Calgary where I'm able to get this done directly or something? I'm stuck!

You need to get referred to a GI specialist by a Family MD

Find a private clinic. I used to work with doctors at the Centre for preventive medicine. They take shit seriously and take care of quickly. Better check with your benefits though, pretty sure the first appointment was $400 bucks. This is a 1 hour appointment though. That clinic shut down though as 2 of the 4 doctors retired.

Alternatively just keep pushing buttons with the walk in. A doctor sees that you have come in 6 times for abdominal pain they might think twice before just pushing your away. That is bordering on negligence.

I had a client get told it would be 2 months before she would get in for a CT scan of her abdominal. The next day she went to the hospital with the same symptoms but worse, CT was done and issue was found within the next day.

There are Family doctors in Calgary currently accepting new patients. many of those are probaby super busy though.
You could try to find a doctor in Canmore, Olds or High River. Typically those hospitals are less busy than the ones in Calgary, so you may be able to get your testing done faster. I just checked, and there are at least a half dozen doctors in Canmore accepting new patients.

That's actually also a good tip for anyone who's going to Emerg, if you aren't going to die on the drive, it'll probably be faster to go to an out of town hospital.

Good luck man!

Get a family doc, then get referred for a specialist. Walk-ins will do dick all, and possibly make it worse by prescribing the wrong drugs.

Try to get referred to the GI clinic at foothills, its one of the best in Canada. Expect 6+ months before being seen by a specialist.

The other option, is to show up at the ER when it gets bad. You may wait 16 hours or longer to be seen if its deemed non-urgent, though.

How comfortable are you with sharing what your symptoms are?

Make sure you click "accepting new patients", and your postal code. Then look for the green checkmark in the list of names. You'll have to go through them one by one to make sure they are Family, or General Practitioners

There's quite a few accepting new patients actually, I haven't looked for awhile, a lot of opened up, so I think I'll change doctors myself to one that's closer.

Hey thanks for the advice. The main symptoms i have is abdominal pain and blood in stool, this has been going on for atleast a year. So far I have been tested for celiac, ulcers, parasites, got many blood work done. Not too sure what is left.. Crohns?

I am a few months from hitting 18, so I believe I am unable to go to foothills, maybe the childrens hospital..
