Creating a route on garmin/google maps

So, I have google mapped a long scenic route from San Francisco to Napa Valley. I am looking for a way to have step by step directions of it. As far as I can see in google maps I can only get directions from one way point to the next to show up at once, instead of every step of the entire trip. Instead of printing off a dozen sheets with directions from each way point to another, I am wondering if there is a way I can get them all to show up?

Or, is there a way to somehow create a file on the computer and upload it to my garmin with all of the directions??

Any help would be really appreciated.
