Hey guys, I am considering purchasing a 2003 Toyota Solaro SLE coupe. I was wondering if anyone who has owned one has anything to say about them, all the reviews I have read online have come back pretty solid. Is there any major problems or things I need to watch for when I go to test drive it?
Thanks a lot.

They are pretty solid (based on the camry IIRC) but they are pretty boring.

Boring yes, but it's a little more exciting than a camry. not by much though.

Solid car for sure. Friend has one, loves it.

My friend has a 03 SLE coupe and has has been bulletproof. Boring but reliable and seats are comfy

It's like a gay version of a SC430.

if it's the gay version of a gay car does that make it straight?

There was a guy selling one on here for $4000-ish, pretty good deal and damn good car if that was your budget....sure it's boring as hell, but it's practical and reliable if that's what you're looking for...

Not quite a looker, but a camry coupe, not too manly though either.

haha guess i stumbled into the wrong forum... great car, i have a 2002 SLE and i can honestly say it's been fairly good to me in my last 4 yrs of ownership.

As many others here have mentioned its based off the older V6 camry version using the 1mzfe. I've owned the car from 70K-140K and the only thing thats come up in the service maintenance schedule is a timing belt change which was a $700 stealership charge.

It's not the most exciting car but it definitely has a decent amount of toque (218lb-ft i believe) and HP is around 200. Also tthe car understeers quite a bit so depending on your driving habits just an FYI.

The interior is actually fiarly good for its age and is very comfortable, i can actually fit 4 full size adults in the car so its got a bit of backseat space.
