Looks like launch of the iPhone 5, 4s, or whatever it is called is right around the corner. Official announcement is scheduled for tomorrow. I realize the specs aren't even out yet but who is planning on getting the new iPhone 5?

Personally, I am still on the fence. I may give the new iPhone another try depending on iOS 5 cloud support and itunes dependency.

I don't think Apple need to do much this round. A iPhone 4 with upgraded guts is just fine.

Nobody has a display that can stand up to retina. Nobody got more and better quality apps. In the end, making devs program to a single spec yield a lot better consistency and higher quality apps.

Even if there isn't a iPhone 5, 4GS will keep Apple in status quo for the next 12 months. And you can beat the marketing machine of Apple. It all over the news tonight. Name another non-Apple tech that generate this much mainstream coverage yr after yr.

It's the same. Siri is actually an app that is still in the app store. The developers were acquired by Apple a year ago, and finally they are using it. Very useful!

yeah it works very well even with minimal ambient noise too ex: driving with the window halfway down, use it quite a bit

Well, different look actuall feels like a new phone you know. If you're spending more money to change a phone that works nicely enough anyway, you need more of a reason to fork up the money. That's my opinion anyway. Even if I was sticking to iPhone's I wouldn't think it was worth the upgrade to spend the extra money. If they changed mored, i.e. cosmetically, the chances are I would get it.
