Shouldn't the 15 year old rule still apply to cars from UK?

No because the owner is living here for work, he can not sell it and it must go back within certain time limits.

yea saw that while ago as well. Was very curious.

One of these guys should bring something rare over, like an R34

a guy i know used to live in the uk, and owned a fiesta (the gen be4 the one they released here). i asked hi mwhy he didnt just bring his car over because he said he loved it. he told me it was too expensive to ship it.

so i guess the sti owner really loved his car? :dunno: either way, cool spot OP.

Its around $2000 to throw it on a boat and ship it to the east coast of Canada from what ive seen.

^^ I think it's a bit different with a entry level economy car versus a performance oriented sports sedan. I wouldn't pay 2000 dollars to bring over a car that's worth probably less than 10 000$ then spend another $2000 to ship it back.

I have seen that one on Costco in NW. It was driven by 40-50 year old woman accompanied by a teenage girl.

If you are immigrating to Canada you are allowed to bring your own vehicle in Canada. You cannot sell it for 1 year though, but you do not pay taxes as well.

You can't sell it at all.

Are you sure about that? I've seen a silver EUDM T230 (last gen) Celica running around in town for quite a few years and recently I noticed a new (7-character) license plate with a ricer wing on it. This could imply that the car has changed hands.

Also, has anyone spotted a LHD bugeye WRX that has signal lights installed on the fenders, a GB sticker on the rear bumper and a rear fog lamp hanging below it? I wonder if this car spent a bit of time in the UK before coming back to Canada? (i.e. in the reverse situation as this blobeye STi)

I work with a guy who moved here from the states and with his outlander. It has a rear fog lamp so I asked him about it and he told me it was the common wealth edition.

Often times your employer will flip the bill for you to bring your vehicle. I had some friends bring their huge lifted trucks over to Afghanistan or somewhere near there, they said they got all kinds of stares.

There is/was another guy in Calgary with a Fiat Coupe for work. Saw it a few times.
