Anyone know if a d16z6 distributor assembly will fit in a d16y8?

I know the engines are similar but want to confirm.

Thanks

i wouldnt see why not there bout single cam 1.6 ltr motors. is there any difference between the two? ie. vtec or anything like that and are the ignitions the same, cuz if they are you`ll be fine.

well they are both vtec and one is odb II and the other odb I, the head on the odb II is supposilty different, but the blocks are the same, same compression ratio. :dunno:

I'm assuming that they'd be different, cuz on the ludes, the 4th gen sr-v's and 5th gens both use h22a's but the 5th gens (and the 96 sr-v's) use an obdII and they also have a different distributor setup.

Mike the compression is not the same for the engines. The Z6 has lower compression, and a lower vtec engagement point, 125 hp. While the Y8 has higher compression and higher vtec point, 127hp

I thougt they were both the same compression :dunno: and well as for the VTEC engaugements I was aware of that. I guess
have to brake down and buy one :thumbsdow
