View Full Version : Realistic dream goals for your current car?

Shlade

Curious what everybody wants done to their car.

What sort of goals do you have in mind? Street car/Race car/Strip/Track? Which one?

Power goals?

Also what sort of mods would you want done to the car?

For me I want it to be a fun street car/weekend warrior (track or quarter mile)

Goals for the car (2003 Cobra)

Aluminator long block
Stage 2 Macleoud clutch
Short shifter
Full suspension works
Lightened interior
Wheels n tires
Power goals (550hp-600)

Just something I can think at the top of my head right now.

Lets see what you guys got!

I thought your goal was to sell it? (http://forums.beyond.ca/st/341106/fs-2003-svt-ford-mustang-cobra/)

If my MR2 doesn't ever sell, and I find the funds

ATS Intercooler
MSD 8950/MSD 87431
Turbo upgrade
Standalone EMS
GSC Cams
SARD 800CC fuel injectors
Modified fuel rail
Walbro Fuel Pump
ATS 2.3L Stroker block

400ish rwhp

Time to feed it the wallet and make some serious power :poosie:

I guess the major things performance wise I would like:

3.5l Stroker(2nd gen crank, forged internals etc, but I'll probably settle for a built 3.0l and call it a day)

DR-1000's(Not 100pct sure what I want for turbos, I might say to hell with an expensive ass stroker, get a engine with the forged internals, 2nd gen stuff and go with bolt on DR-750's or a pair of TD04 MHI 16G's, leaning more towards DR-750's, since the don't require any manifold swapping etc, but they cost as much if not more than a 16G kit, but are probably the best bolt on turbo out there)

Mountain of supporting mods such as the Split Second ARC-2 Fuel Computer / MAF & Intake Kit etc.

Swap the 18 spline transfer case out for the 25spline tc with 25spline output shaft etc.

6 Speed swap?

Upgrade Swaybars, install Suspension bushing kit.

ABS Delete

AWS Delete

Battery Relocate

Maybe a front end conversion to either 2nd gen 3000gt or the 2ng gen Stealth to accommodate a front mount, haven't really decided, don't want to cut up 1st gen bumper for one. maybe upgrade sidemounts)

Black interior out of a 99 VR-4, replace worn to ass seat covers.

Widebody fenders? Rolled and Pulled fenders? Don't really want to get new wheels because I got some rubba pokin out the back, I like my FN01R-C's :(

Replace/Paint certain trim pieces

Repaint car including engine bay.

Underbody coating

Powdercoat brake calipers or upgrade brakes.

Powdercoat various suspension

Blue LED kit to replace factory interior lighting(So my shit matches my gauges and deck)

96 Stealth wing

Rear wiper delete

Probably a few other things I'd like to do hrrrmmm.

EDIT: IPS Quad Tip Exhaust, I'd like to hear it in person though

not much is being done on mine.

I'm hoping for this.

FK coilovers
Rolled fenders
Borbet's (16x9) w/tires
Roll fenders
Tint

Make engine reliable or somehow swap in a vr6 (this is a bit of a long shot but still possible)

GT4 will be up for sale next summer to finish the 68 mustang.

stang will be a resto-rod so plans are...

front chin lip
rear spoiler
lowering springs or coilovers
big fat fuckin wheels
late 80's 5.0

and thats it. im not going to track it, i just want a nice, good power cruiser.

FC 13b turbo goal is to break 500 rwhp on just pump gas. Its been there before boost wise, just not dyno verified.
FC 20b 400 rwhp N/A, weigh no more than 2200 lbs and fit a something like a 315 in the rear wheel well and 275's up front.
FD, 550 on pump gas and zero lag is the goal
FC 13b N/A break 250 rwhp with a new exhaust design.

Almost done with mine. Modded it in a way that it would still be functional for what it was meant for.

Rebuilt engine 2 yrs. ago, stock internals .020 over pistons
ARP 12mm head studs
Hamilton 110 valve springs
S&B cold air intake
Boost, pyro, and trans. temp gauges
Boost fooler
DDP 62/71/14 turbo, non-wastegated
DDP 50 hp injectors
AFE intake manifold
ATS 2 pc. exhaust manifold
Flo-Pro turbo back 5" exhaust WITH MUFFLER and 6" grapefruit launcher tip.
Smarty S-06 programmer with REVO-TNT kept on level 2
Rebuilt transmission with Sonnex billet input shaft, valve body, triple disc billet torque converter, BD billet flex plate, ATS deep pan and bigger cooler. Red Eagle Alto clutchpacks and Kolene steels.
Firestone Ride-Rite airbags and all the necessary stuff for towing heavy. PIAA headlights and foglights.

Hertz everything including 2 10" subs, Pioneer head unit, and Sirius. Tinted all the way around.

Currently sits on 18" Motometal 9051's, with Pro-Comp 9100 shocks, 2" leveling kit and BFG AT 305/65/18's.

VERY near future: BDS 6" lift with dual steering stabilizer, and 35" Pro-Comp Xtreme AT's. Appt. already booked.

Not so near future: Paint, and new glass all around. Also gonna install a BOV, and a wastegate. Yes, a BOV! My goal was a modded truck, that can still make me money. For that reason alone I'm not so sure I'm even gonna paint it. Never dyno'd with all the mods in, but I'm guessing 400+hp,/900ish tq at least.

Next project: 2004-2006ish WRX STI, believe me with the money I'm used to spending on a diesel, this is gonna be real real easy for me. My goal with this car is to show a friend that his 615hp Cobra isn't the fastest thing on the road like he seems to think!

In the process of a trade right now for an Aristo... Guy is waiting for a part from Japan to fix its heater. Hopefully that goes through.

The aristo will be a much more high dollar build than the Civic, and I'm planning at least 500 rwhp. I figure if I can get half that on a 1.6 with an ebay turbo and shitty ol crome, I should be able to reach and hopefully surpass the 500 mark with a 3.0l and a "real" turbo and EMS. But the first year or two I will just play with the stock twins. Here's hoping they don't grenade.

Are you using an LED blinker? If you are you will either need to splice in a load resistor/balancer or one of your old light bulb into the circuit

Been reading threads on it. Sounds like a tricky job but this next year I'm ditching the condo for a house and I'm making quick use of the garage once I have one. Plus I'll have the Jeep paid off this coming year so all the more reason to do something interesting with it.

Not sure what I'll do at home or if I'll see if a shop wants to take on the project. Time will tell.

Soon as I move into a place with a garage, I'll be doing a R32 swap to Corrado. INCLUDING THE AWD.

So basically. An AWD Corrado, with the R32 engine, 6 speed tranny, and I'll probably end up putting a turbo on there as well.

Already have all the parts, just need the space to work on it.

I would like to try and keep this car for longer than 5 months. :nut:

My long-term goal after I'm finished college is to do a EJ207 swap with STi drivetrain, Perrin GT3076 turbo kit, and Brembo conversion.

My goals in the spring is to get my car tuned, and get Advan RS' lowered on Megan Racing Street coilovers.

Realistic dream? Hmmm.
For me, sell it and buy better rather than upgrade. In my case a total swap is in order, 335i gets swapped for a 2010 s4 (as of now maybe an x5d) and the rx goes for a 2011 cayenne s (maybe the gl diesel if I'm in my "I need a minivan mood")

For the Z06:
Realistic:
- Learn to drive it on the track (scheduled for road course drivers ed)
- Keep daily driving it
- ZR1 CF front lip and side skirts
- Exhaust because it's way too quiet now
- Lower it a bit
- Slicks and a 11.5 second 1/4 mile pass (already did 12.16 at 120 bone stock on street tires)
- Nitto Invo tires

Unrealistic for the next 12 month:
- Headers + cam for 550whp --> 10.xx second pass.

Oh, and keep ahead of each of my boss' cars (easy):

Car is in garage for the whole winter season; however, next spring it will have:

-5x112 Wheel adapter to 5x114.3
-Volk TE37 preferably black or blue 18/19s depending with stretched falken tires.
-Custom Sub and amp install to make more space ( Took out spare tire out)
-Vinyl Carbon wrap on my Wood Trim Interior
-#1 spring pads for the car to be lower. ( currently #3 all around)
-Paint my exhaust tip black
-New Floor mats
-Front and Rear Sway bars

I don't drive this car in winter so I don't need coil overs, also i just bought HR lowering springs, and Bilistein Sport Struts for the car this year.

Realistically, I plan to rebuild the engine (when it needs it), upgrade the management and keep it as a cool toy in my garage. None of this will be done until I buy a new toy (hoping for a 996TT).....I just want to keep this one since I have owned it since new.
