4Runner more rugged.

FX more luxury.

What do you prefer?

I'd pick the 4Runner.

4 Runner, better resale in the end.

4 Runners are TOUGH and hold their resell value quite well. They last forever!
FX a little more luxuraious but not really an offroading SUV. Premium gas more $ on repairs etc.

I would personally get a 4runner limited and it will have all the options the FX would.

I looked into both cars a few months ago. My only complaint with the Infiniti was its lack of storage capacity in the rear - it was a joke. Although I picked up an RDX, the 4Runner was the winner between the two.

resale on 4 runners is always through the roof, i say 4 runner

edit: also don't the SR5 and trail edition 4 runners have part-time 4wd? therefore in the summer save some gas and run it rwd.

They are both overly bloated SUV's especially the 4 Runner. If you actually plan on driving it off roads the 4 Runner for sure but if you are only communting in the city the Infinity. I just don't understant the logic of using a 4 Runner as a commuter car in the city.

I like 4runners but they haven't been nice since sometime in the 90's.....too bad, good vehicle.

I agree with D though, bad city choice.

LOVE the look of the new 4Runners. Looks aggressive with the boxier look.

I always find myself eying one when I'm up close with one

One has quite a bit more cargo room than the other. Depends on your need for passenger space, cargo, and where you will be driving etc.

Didn't they have $10g off MDX a while ago?

I almost purchased the FX before deciding on my Evo.

With winter around the corner, I have been tempted on numerous occasions to sell my Evo for the 4Runner :(

Whats the purpose? Both are great cars, but are very different.

I love driving my 4runner. The limited makes it a bit more luxurious but it doesn't compare to the Infinity interior. Premium vs regular is worth considering, as are potential repair costs.

If I wasn't going out of town and needing a bigger suv to haul shit and have the proper ground clearance, I was going to get an Infinity suv as the G35 can't haul nearly as much as i want. Having driven the 4runner for about a month now, I love it and will drive it until it dies.

The limited is fulltime 4wd while the sr5 and trail are 2wd and changeable into 4-wheel. The trail has quite a few handy offroading features and a nifty pullout tray. The problem with the new 2011 runners are that if you want leather in an sr5, you need a 3rd row vs the 2010 don't require it. The seats fold flat but you lose about 4" of vertical cargo space.

I think the choice you need to make is what is more important to you.

- Lower repair costs
- Fuel type
- Depreciation
- Cargo room
- Offroad capabilities

The 4runner is quite a bit bigger and the FX handles very car-like and is faster. I can't really vote one way or the other. They're too different.

Hey msommers, How much does it cost to fill the 4runner and approx how many km's you get out of a full tank? Lets say mostly city driving...

msommers

The computer in there say 12.6L/100km but I'm not sure how accurate it is. I've never really driven a full tank but I'll look at my receipts and figure out a more accurate mileage for you albeit I drive mixed city/hwy.

If the G35 is any indication, I have a strong feeling the 4runner is better on fuel.

I've calculated 12.42L/100km. Heading way up north and likely will need a tank of gas. It's an 80L tank so I'm hoping I make it up to Slave Lake on a tank - my buddies V8 hemi Dodge 1500 did so I better!
