What does everyone use for a wallet, specifically looking for the higher quality/luxury brands?

I have a beautiful Tumi that I bought on a trip a few years ago, the leather is just perfect now, except the ID window is blown out and that is forcing me to look for a new money carrier.

Went to Holt today to check out Louis Vuitton, always liked the look of their wallets, but I was surprised to find that the quality of the leather didn't feel that great - maybe just needing to be worn in or whatever, but definitely made me hesitate.

Anyone else have suggestions for beautifully made, high quality leather goods?

I have that one. Also another black version that comes with the "clear window" for your licence. I've loved it since the day I had it :D

Yeah I used to have a Gucci one and can vouch for the quality but too bad I lost that one. Currently using a prada one but its not leather but it is also going great.

I have had this Mont Blanc money clip/wallet. It has pockets for the cards on the sides (think 8) and a clip for money in the middle. Just perfect amount of thickness and everything.

Louis Vuitton Taiga and Epi Leather would probably be what you would prefer, a lot of their products like the Daimer print is made of some leather looking canvas

I run a bison hide wallet, made by some guy in Alberta, Adrian Klis or something, but bought it in Prince Rupert BC nearly ten years ago.

Just been surfing around that saddleback leather site, looks awesome.

I recently bought a Coach wallet. I like it so far, looks like this:

But instead of blue it's dark brown. I like it because it's got a modern classic look to it.

I've gone through two Louis Vuitton Bi-fold wallets in Damier print. I like it because I beat it to shit and its still intact. They don't use leather for this line but the canvas is nice. I believe LV has leather goods too.

The saddleback leather stuff is incredible. My friend has one of their bags and that shit will last on this earth much longer than he will.

Another friend has one of their wallets, which I like, but it took him almost a year to soften it to the point where it was comfortable to carry. Very, very stiff leather.

very thin black leather Burberry cardholder. Got it on sale at Holt for like 70 bucks 4 years ago. Wouldnt trade it for anything haha.

Prada black leather wallet from holt. By far the nicest leather wallet I have owned and a friend of mine has had one for four years and still looks new.

If you're looking for a higher end quality leather wallet, why not try Bottega Veneta? I have been using a Bottega Veneta money clip wallet for a while now and love it. Been through a couple LV wallets, and as much as I like them, I wanted something a little more subtle and different from what everyone else uses.

Bottega Veneta loves doing the weave pattern and from what I've read, these guys want either a print or a fabric pattern.

Why don't you get one handmade, custom-made for what you want? If you go to etsy.com, you can find a suitable leathersmith(?) that can create your custom wallet in whatever leather.

Unless you solely just want to pay for the name, then by all means. =)

No, I meant 'printed' leather i.e. LV Damier pattern. And Gucci is usually canvas, especially the monogram line.

I love Bottega; wish I could afford it haha. Wallet is >$500+ for the really delicious ones.

Coach just opened up a Mens store in CrossIron Mills. They have great stuff and lifetime warranty. So if there is a stitch out or blown out ID holder, they will give you a new wallet
Did you check with Tumi? They may replace it for you.

Are these expensive wallets you guys are referring to expensive because of function or form? I'm looking for a very good functional wallet but don't care who makes it.

It has been holding together pretty well for about 8 years now, the black has faded off the leather around the edges and one of the stitches has let go where it folds... will probably get another 2 years out of it no problem.

I just checked. Mine is derek alexander as well. Mine is working on 6 years. Losing colour at the fold, no stitching issues yet.

I have to ask, is there anything special about this Bottega Veneta brand? They have an $1130 wallet??? Does it give you a BJ when you wake up? Do bills duplicate inside it? Are people that vain that they need to know they spent more on a wallet than anyone else or is there something amazing about this one?

It's probably crocodile or something exotic. The quality of their products and the materials they use are top-notch. They are a pretty high end brand. Are they worth the price? Probably not, but to each their own. If someone wants to spend a grand on a wallet, then so be it, whatever floats their boat.

i would kill a crocodile with my bare hands and make my own wallet before i ever spent anywhere near $1000 for one.
