Wow, thanks for using a video off of my site as a mirror and not telling me. What a crappy thing to do, the file is now removed. Please don't abuse other website's bandwidth. You didn't pay for it...

I posted it from another forum. If you have the video in a public directory, you should be prepared for the public viewing it. Thanks for dropping by.

A public directory? Try going to http://video.thirtythreetech.com now.

Hmmmm, looks like I'll have to dig through my HTML referrers list a little more often. :dunno:

Look you changed it so there's no need to discuss it anymore. I don't even know where I got it-the post is old even for this forum's standards - it hasn't even been on the first page of threads in like 2 weeks. Did you have anything else you wanted to chat about?

wow... your mouthy... the guy runs a pretty cool site if you take some time and join up...

You say there is no need to discuss it anymore yet you yourself are still crying about it...

Read a few posts back, I didn't treat him any different from how he treated me. Point out where it is that I'm crying about it? And I have no doubt that he runs a great site, that's not what's being discussed. He's accusing me of robbing his bandwidth. If he didn't want public users to view it, he could have set permissions accordingly or put it in a pw'd directory.

If I find that happening and it bugs me too much I switch the video for porn and watch the fun. :D

But yah this had sunk to the archives - I have it if anyone really cares.

Old for this forum's standards? I see a post from the 5th on the first page.

I'm not really worried about my bandwidth but now I can see where it is abused. I don't know where you got the link from because the file isn't in a directory that everyone can view, it hasn't been for a long time.

This was the file's only link that the world could see: http://www.thirtythreetech.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=53

I guess I will have to disable remote linking of my video files then.

BTW, even though you got it "from another forum" you still contributed to the abuse by mirroring it again. That's not treating you bad at all so I don't get your logic there. You abuse my bandwidth and somehow I am in the wrong?

Just FYI - ANY file that is public can be linked. That file could have been posted on Slashdot, Google, or anywhere else WITHOUT asking your permission.

If you want private files, you either set a password on the directory, or you set limits on which referrers are allowed to download (ie, no hotlinking). It's up to YOU as the admin to do this.

Do you really think every time a video is posted that someone should look up the administrator for that domain, contact them, and ask permission? Being public is implied permission.
