Why not?

It's a small pocket knife. Comes in handy all the time.

:dunno: I carry a leatherman on my belt on days I work, but to carry one everyday, wherever I went? Just seems weird.

edit: So, here's my only knife (not including my axes for firewood, and hatchets for camping)

To each his own, I guess. I don't drink coffee and I think it's wierd that people can't seem to function without it.

Agreed a pocket knife comes in handy all the time, and if you get a good one you dont even notice it in your pocket.

I carry the single blade version on this knife daily. Have carried one since I was a kid. Best tool in the world!

Well, at least you have lots of places to hide it.

Every day pocket knife.

How do you like that Junkyard Dog? I've been looking for a new EDC for awhile now that can handle harder use than the ones I've had previously and this one is near the top of my list. I'm kind of between this or a Blur right now.
Is it fairly thin/light? I pocket carry, and I hate how many knives seem to have thick handles that make them a pain to ride clipped to the inside of a pocket. I like the CRK&T KISS type design, but they just aren't stout enough for what I need, and I've not been impressed with the steel at all.

Carry this one on the belt. But it's getting dull. Any recommendations for places to get it sharpened?

Presently, my everyday carry is a SOG Aegis. A huge improvement over my previous CRKT knife.

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c153/happydude123321/pic1.jpg

Also have a favored hatchet for common use, a SOG FastHawk.

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c153/happydude123321/sog_fasthawk-hatchet-400.jpg

Beyond those, have a large number of utility and throwing knives which I'll try and get a few pics of later, though quite a few are still in storage.

Where are you guys picking up your SOG knives? And what would you guys recommend for a fixed blade?

This SOG (http://sogknives.com/store/SE-37.html) has a lot of nice features on it and sounds extremely robust.

However in my short search I came across this Gerber (http://www.gerber-tools.com/Gerber-Silver-Trident-06995.php) with similar features.

I got my SOG from amazon.ca - yep.

I saw a couple SOG's in the knife case at Canadian tire the other day...
Target knives here in Calgary has probably the best selection of knives in the city.

Went to Target today, quite the collection. Guy was very knowledgeable but the prices compared to online were out to lunch. Amazon it is!

I bought the vast majority of knives I own from Warriors & Wonders, a little store in Vancouver run by a father and his two sons.

http://www.warriorsandwonders.com/

Though they have a storefront, they primarily do online business. Great selection and great prices.

Pretty basic for camping/fishing. Need to grab an upgrade this spring.

EDIT: What are some knives you guys would recommend that have a fire starter integrated?

Maybe this?

I have way too many knives to post them all, but here are 3 of my favorites. 440 stainless, heavy and sharp, great all purpose camping tools. The cleaver is great for hacking up whole chickens.

My EDC - CRKT Firespark with assisted opening. Just the perfect blade length.

Besides this knife I always carry my Leatherman Wave or Skeletool.
