So I work Downtown around 1st SW, and have to go on business lunches every so often. looking for places that are not crazy expensive and formal but not pubs either. somewhere you could go for a business meeting?

so far I'd say
Sociale,
Milestones and Earls on Stevens ave,
Parker house Grill & wine bar ( a little pricey).

any other suggestions?

There are many apps/websites that can help you out. Check out open table.

What are the themes of the lunches? Who are you going out with? What industry?

Unless you are taking Jr./Inter people out or field guys I wouldnt go near Milestones or Earls.

Typical places that we use:
- Petro Club
- Charcut
- Mercato

Other than the ones above... Red water? Met? Chicago? (little pricy though)

If it is Junior, or a more casual vibe, a lot of people really enjoy going to Chinatown.

I've got one service company that takes a bunch of us out to Delicious Country a couple times a year. They do some kind of amazing spicy fish stew thing that has us all in tears by the end of it. I had one Senior VP that just loved Gee Gong.
Regency Palace for Dim Sum is also another option. Pho Saigon Pasteur is killer. There are probably fifty restaurants within a couple blocks there.

You do need to know your crowd though. That's probably not a safe move if you are using this lunch to win business. However nothing builds camaraderie like the imminent danger of getting sriricha on your shirt.

I quite like Salt Lik but in the last couple if years I think they have gone down hill. Their lunches are pretty reasonably priced IMO.

You don't say where on 1st, but Raw Bar in Hotel Arts is decent and reasonably priced.
