I see in other beyond forums people do MIG/TIG welding for making modifications to their cars. I have done a welding course before in my old country and it was quite similar to this http://register.sait.ca/saitApp/calendar/coned/courseContent.jsp?calendarType=coned&courseCode=WELD-204&startTerm=000000 however I didnt bother getting the ticket at the end because I didnt really need to. In canada if you take the above course do you get an opportunity to get a hobbyist type ticket that you can use to make art/furniture/car parts? or do you need to be a journeyman welder to certify welds for that sort of thing?

I don't think there is a hobby ticket, I didn't get anything when I took a course at SAIT, except the knowledge on how to operate a welder. that ought to be enough for a hobbyist though.

your not required to be a journeyman at all. it just opens more possibilities. but for hobby welding then as long as you can make it look pretty it's good enough to most people.
