Hi,
a friend asked me to ask around:
At a building in the NE , the utility poles are directly across the street, Shaw says they want 6000 to run the cable from the pole to the building. Is this standard? This building has 7 tanets whom most would be using Shaw if the service was installed there.
Any suggestions on how he may able to get Shaw service without paying 6000 ?
Does anyone know a department at Shaw or know of a way to assist? Thank you kindly in advance.

I don't think they'll even split the cost with you. I've asked about a similar situation in a downtown building and haven't had any luck

last time i asked they said they would split the cost but with their company going down the shitter they probably don't do that any more either

Split it with Shaw, then split your portion with all the building residents. With 7 people, $3k is about $430 each.
That's really your best bet. And yeah, 6k sounds about right...maybe even a little low in fact.

haha sounds about right if they don't have to deal with a fucking onion... fucking onions, the company I work for can't even build a garbage bin for 6k.

What's wrong with Telus? I assume they had copper run for phone already? So ADSL may be your only way out.
