Call your insurance... they will walk you through the process, good luck

If they have collision, it's easy, just call insurance.

If they don't have collision, then they should be booking their car in to a shop... like right fucking now, because they'll be busy starting today, lol.

Screamin' Paintworks
Concours
Contemporary Coachworks
Cosmo's

These all seem to be recommended by Beyonders... I've had good experience at Cosmo's and Screamin.

don't call insrance bro. especially if it's small it'll be way cheaper in the long run to pay out of pocket. and never tell hte insurance provider.. oh and do it soon for sure

In most cases yes but it depends on your policy. (i.e. Accident forgiveness, etc.)

It's up to you to see whether to claim is better, or just paying out of pocket. Usually if it's just a bumper on a non-expensive to average car, I'd rather pay out of pocket.

yeah if you can get away with not going through insurance I would recommend it. How bad is the damage? And on what car?

Also, you said they ran into a pole? did the pole get damaged? because if it did, I am sure they won't be able to do this without insurance.

poll has no damage.

cars front bumper in the right corner is scratched and slightly torn open. The vehicle is a newer corolla

estimated damage based upon first look is $500

$500 is nothing. pay cash. The deductible is probably more than that.

Just to have a bumper stripped and repainted is about $600.00 depending on shop. Lot's of times if a bumper is torn they are not worth replacing (depending on how they are torn). I am an appraiser for a Toyota body shop. Shoot me a PM and we can arrange for a free estimate if you would like.

Someone PM MaskedBandit while I start digging up info. on these insurance dodgers. I'm not going to let them get away with this.

if less than $2000. pay out of pocket. unless you have accident forgiveness...otherwise your insurance is going up on renewal and stays high for the next 6 years.

Damage to a bumper is minimum $1100. I had some scratches on mine and I got quoted that. When I had a minor crack in it and they had to replace it, I got quoted $1400.

Do NOT call the insurance company. They are better off not knowing about something so small. The minute they record that she had an accident, they will likely increase her premiums.

Screamin Paintworks is usually mentioned as the best in town.

And I'm going to bet the damage will be more than $500. For a new bumper cover, paint and labour, you're probably looking at $1000 minimum.

(However, still far better to pay it out of pocket)

Edit: Mar beat me to it.

her insurance could even increase just by phoning and asking how much her premiums would increase if she made a clame.. LOL

If she gets an aftermarket bumper (Approx $200 depending on car), I can get her in touch with someone who will spray it for ~$300.

If he can install the bumper himself, he can order the bumper from Calgary Auto Body Shop for $400 painted.

Is that just from you examining the car? Or did you bring it to an autoshop and they took a quick look and told you 500? Body work is expensive and I'd be really surprised to hear that it's only $500. If it's affordable, I'd just pay for it out of your/her pocket and save the accident forgiveness for something more serious and expensive.

I've heard that too. Depends on which insurance company you're with. I know with TD monnex, calls won't increase your premium unless you chose to make a claim.
