gf gave all her credit info (SIN,creditcards,bday,name,add etc) to some stupid scam on the internet, Dont as me why :banghead:

i need advise on how to protect her from fraud? what should we do?

Cancel all the CC's that she gave out. Call your bank, TransUnion and Equifax to notify them your information has been compromised. She is going to have fun in the next year or 2 getting any credit approved without having to prove it is her and go through a lot more hoops.

would daily monitoring (protect your identity from equifax) works??? she'll get notify daily if, or someone is using her credit info or applying for any credit?

Call the RCMP, no joke. they actually have a hotline for fraud I believe.

Actually I didn't find it but they give good info here (including filing a police report):

Even if she puts a fraud alert on her credit file, it sounds like the scammer has enough info to answer to any possible question someone would ask when doing a credit check anyways (date of birth, address, SIN, etc.) so it would be just as easy for the scammer to pose as her and get away with it still.

thanks boys, so we did contact both equifax and transunion, filed a police report and contacted the gov. fraud department. thank God nothing was done prior to the incident. thanks again.
