Heya folks, here are the latest modifications to my Benzo:

Momo Driver Steering wheel:
http://www.virgeweb.com/Ben/psylence/Various/momo1.jpg
The silver on the wheel goes well with the deck and shifter surround IMO..

I also replaced my dash bulbs to blue for a more modern look to match the stereo:

Close-up of Dash:
http://www.virgeweb.com/Ben/psylence/Various/BlueDash.jpg

Some Fcuks stole my hood star, so I replaced it with an improvement that matches my summer wheels:

What do you think?

Yes they do, in Europe mainly...when they introduced the W124 to NA, they did bring 5 spds for 86 and 87..a grand total of 200 cars!! LOL...not very popular..the 5 spd gearbox wasn't very good...

lookin :bigpimp: Zorro.....but I am not a fan of the steering wheel. Kind of ruins the "luxo tuner" look of the car IMO.

but as long as you like it then itz all good since you are the one rippin around in that thing :D

does that Carlsson hood badge HANG over the front of the grill??? maybe its just the angle of the pic but it looks like it overhangs the front of the grill :dunno:

That car is pretty ugly. Too boxy and the in my opinion, the lines are pretty contingent with that of a yellow cab. But hey, whatever works for you man. for the effort.

ZorroAMG
01-29-2004, 06:21 PM
HAHAHA, well not everyone is going to like it, oh well...

Regarding your use of the word contingent, how are the lines of my car conditional, reliant, subject, or dependant on those of a yellow cab? Try a thesaurus before you try to 0wn me...

Have a nice day... say hi to bertha on the bus ride home tonight.

Well first thing's first, you take criticism fairly well. Secondly, if you're gonna refer to a thesaurus, you should really not limit yourself to what Microsoft Word has to offer...4 words can't really do that one word justice. I suggest this web site next time

contingent (http://thesaurus.reference.com/search?q=contingent)

Finally, I will use one of the words that you listed. Mercs were used as paid commuter vehicles in some areas, like a taxi for example. Now, this being said, the designer of your particular car utilized the lines of a taxi to create the monstrosity of this particular thread. So, essentially, the lines of your vehicle are in fact "reliant", "conditional", "subjet" or "dependent" (I decided to use all the words, sorry) to that of a taxi cab. If the taxi was not created, it can only be assumed that your car would not look the way it did. :)

Hopefully that clears things up a bit.

That's awesome Masturbater, really it is!! The point that you KNOW about MS Word and its synonym/thesaurus feature is moot seeing as you STILL used the word incorrectly even during your long-winded nonsensical schpiel.

As much as I appreciate the insight into Mercedes-Benz' development of the W124 series car, I will kindly ask you to stop posting in this thread, since you obviously have nothing relevant to say about my car or the mods I have made...

If you have anything further to say, send it to me via PM, i'd like to keep this thread ON topic, bus boy.

Haha, I'll drive an $80 000 taxi any day of the week. Zorro, we should steer clear of the S-class as well, wouldn't want to drive a 'limo.'

I suppose he does have a point though, even though our W124's have been considered one of the best built luxury cars ever made, those classy Europeans had to ruin the image by using them as taxi's.

Just so you know D.bater, they weren't designed as taxi's, they were the best luxury vehicles short of the S-class and & 7-series at the time, that's why they're so popular in Europe...

The W124 E-class is actually pretty shapely compared to most the other sedans of its day.

Nice car, but the pedals and steering wheel look a little...less than classy.

I wasn't GOING for classy with the wheel and pedals. I was going for function.

Have you ever gripped a 1990 300E steering wheel? When you do, you will notice that it feels like you are driving a bus. It is a thin, large diameter wheel, not at all conducive to sporty driving and giving any real steering feedback. The Momo wheel is a much smaller diameter, has an ergonomical grip and allows much better control over the factory wheel. It is actually quite straightforward guy, use common sense.

So your car is similar to public transportation!? Now I get it, not necessarily a yellow cab, but public transportation either way. And because I am such a patron of Calgary public transportation, I can see why you opted to get that wheel.

Hey, maybe you should get those racing seats too, cuz yesterday I noticed that the bus driver was sitting on a Recaro seat!! You'd be going for function with that would you not?:dunno:

Props for this car. Saw it in person in the summer and all I can say is that it looks better in person than in pictures.

Good choice on the steering wheel. To me its more of a classy old school look which works with the Benz rather than most aftermarket 'race style' type steering wheels.
