I've checked T&T and Superstore but I can't seem to find this stuff anywhere. Anyone got pics of the one they have AND where you can buy it? Maybe I'm just overlooking it because I have no idea what the jar/bottle looks like. Based on the colouring and consistency, I figured I'd be able to narrow it down but no dice.

in T&T and i think at superstore, it's got colourful birds and stuff on it, about the size of the old glass coca cola bottle, really mainlander kinda brand.

you're not talking about the chili oil tho right?

I've never been able to find this at T&T. I share your frustration.

Also, dim sum places in Calgary don't consistently serve the same hot sauce and it ruins the experience for me with out the right stuff.

Chilli oil with dim sum just isn't right in my book and I'm not a fan of the mustard either.

We used to explain to my white friends that it was Chinese ketchup and watch them pile that shit on. good times.

I'm 95% sure it's this stuff. My grandparents used to buy it when I was a kid and I remember it was the same, or closest to the dim sum hot sauce.

I'm sure you can buy it at T&T or any chinese supermarket, like Lucky, Hong Kong 88, Lambda, New Asia

If a Chinese person said that something was "Chinese Ketchup" I would first want to know how much plastic was used to make it.

Personally, I'd ask how much lead was in the packaging.

It's funny cuz the Chinese actually invented ketchup.

This stuff is a little thicker, but it's as close as it gets. I usually dilute with vinegar.

I have never seen this at T&T, but I will print this out and try Lucky and Lambda lol.

The pic posted is the one my sister has in Edmonton, but I've never found that stuff here.
