It really depends where I am really. In banff we usually "make the rounds" mostly beer tho. Some night it could be all over the place tho. That's when I can get messy haha. Usually drinking pints at the Eddie burger to start the night tho.

I usually drink rye and ginger.

But my fav drink - and no, it doesn't make me gay - is a well made bellini. I like the ones at Cactus Club. It is probably the only drink that I consume primarily for the taste, as opposed to the alcohol content.

Vodka & coke ... it's like candy to me. A friend of mine in high school who was a light weight and would puke from every kind of alcohol made this his drink of choice. It was the only mix he could handle and get drunk without puking... lol... and it caught on.

It has to be at least a double though... and very little mix... I like my hiballs to have a bite... ;)

I am also a regular gin & tonic drinker... especially during the summer months.

i really enjoy Spiced Rum and ginger, or with rootbeer (a bit sweet, but can water it down)

also like gin & tonic but usually get rattled for ordering it, some people find it a girly drink but i like it.

Prefer wheat beers, German if they have it. If none then Guiness. If not that then Keiths/Kokanee. Hard liquor eff's me up so quickly because I'm so used to the drinking rate of beer I've gone through 4 drinks in no time!

Gin and Ginger, but if it's going to be a long night, beer. like msommers above, I drink all liquor at the same rate, so if it's hard booze, I drink way more, than end up trying to pick fights with bouncers, co workers, or my wife.

The sheer volume of beer is a natural throttling mechanism.

I do find that if I drink a lot of darker beer (Big Rock Trad is a go-to) then my shits stink waaaaay worse than if I'm on something lighter like Grasshopper or kokannee. I'm no chemist, so I can't explain it, but I'll usually start with a couple dark beers for taste, than go to the lighter stuff, for the sake of humanity.

Belgian and german beers seem to agree with me, especially the wheat ones, but for some reason, I never liked heineken.

Erdinger Weiss and Paulaner were ones I enjoyed in Germany but they taste slightly different here, not as fresh. Delerium Tremens I actually tried at Delerium in Brussels and is fucking awesome. True Belgian beer is sour and quite frankly, fucking disgusting.

Wildrose Velvet Fog is a good local wheat beer. Grizzly Paw has a wheat beer as well that is decent, name escapes me now.

Just remembered about Augustiner Weiss. Also a dark beer I enjoyed in Croatia was called Tomislov; no idea if we can get that here. New Castle isn't anything out of the ordinary but is pretty good and fairly light for a dark beer. There was a Weiss beer I had in Berlin and was wicked, I'll try to find the name.

If I'm getting a mixed drink at a club, which is very rare, it'll always be either a gin and tonic or a Vodka Sev. Usually stick with Tequila shots and Corona though.

My pecking order for beer at a pub goes like this:

Corona > Stella > Kieths > Ricards Red > Heinken > Canadian/Coors/Kokanne/All that watery tasting stuff.

In the summer I stick a Lime beer in between Stella and Kieths.

At house parties, its Tequila and Vodka shots, Coronas or Stellas (90% my friends share the same taste in beer so those two brands are usually on hand) and for drinks it's almost always Screwdrivers.

Our in-cab Pre-Drinks are Rum and Coke 99.9999% of the time. As someone who hates Rum and Coke, it makes getting drunk before we leave much more important.
