At the Monterey Historics in August I came across an item that I knew that I had to own. It's an original painting by Nicholas Watts of Senna in his final car - the Williams Renault Rothmans livery car.

I have collected several Watts prints as I am a fan of his work but didn't have any originals. What made this piece extra special is the autograph that comes with it. It's a Senna autograph and he dated it himself in 1994 - the same year he lost his life at Imola.

I'm getting it remounted and reframed as the frame and matting it came in was more for protection than display purposes.

Anyone else have some Senna memorbilia they care to share? I found a great website out of Ontario with some amazing things for sale if you are interested.

Pretty cool ...
I am struggling to find frames for all that mazda swag you gave me.. Probably have to take it a custom shop I guess...
I was thinking that overhead view of the 787b would actually make a killer tattoo...

It's best, and not too expensive, to get things framed professionally if you want it to look good for a long time. I use Highwood Art and Framing in High River. They have fair pricing and Don is good to deal with. I have so much stuff that I haven't framed yet that I am actually considering checking out how difficult it would be to do it myself.

As for the tattoo.....I know the image you have in mind and that would be AWESOME.....

I picked up a 787B Limited Edition print from Bill Patterson - who is the official artist of Laguna Seca and had a booth there. He only had one copy there otherwise I would have picked you up one.

You can find it here if you are interested:

It's the only place that I have seen a limited edition print of the 787B. Not too many racing artists out there and so far only Bill has seen fit to paint the only japanese car to win LeMans.

There were a bunch of guys selling prints at Super Gt, but I never thought to collect any of it. Will have to check some more of it out next time.

Take a look at the memorabilia section. Nice stuff but outside most peoples price range.

Wow, a lot of cool stuff, especially the racing suits. I don't think I'll get any memorabilia but I might pick up a 1/18 model of Senna in the MP4/4 for christmas. Thanks for the site soloracer.

Not really Senna stuff but I have a brake disc and a shaft collar off a Formula 1 car I bought at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last year.

I've got a rim off a Honda F1 car.

What material is that rotor made from? Carbon fiber?

I don't think its really fibre but its carbon for sure. It rubs off on your hands, and its very light compared to a rotor off a regular car.

Ah, I think I remember you posting about that. It was a silver BBS wheel, no?
