I remember when I got my notification that I was going to get it, it was in August or something. But I finished my degree so I didn't end up getting a cheque. So they do tell you before.

You can find it on google and each year I've gotten it late November early December. It's going straight to my winter vacation :D

It's up to a maximum of 3 times payout IIRC.

So if you got it for each of first 3 years (assuming), then you won't get it again.

and i think you have to be going to school the year after so you probably don't get it in your last year.

you got it in your last year for the year before, I think he meant getting it one year out of university for the year prior unless I misunderstood

Wow. Didn't realize this scholarship was a result of the Taber school shooting in 1999.

Haven't gotten mine yet. Has anyone else who is eligible not received it? Maybe I should contact the Admissions office to make sure I am getting it.

My sister's eligible too and she hasn't received it yet.

She checked her bank account for December 2010 and she deposited the Jason Lang cheque on December 15th. It should be coming soon.

So if I get 3.2 gpa or above for September 2011 to Dec 2011 (fall term)

Will I get it in Jan 2012 semester, cause I am taking 4 out of 5 classes right now and will be taking 4/5 next semester.

I believe the Jason Lang scholarship is distributed annually and takes the average GPA from fall and winter semesters. Its not per semester.

edit....got mine in the mail today!

Was wondering if anyone knows... I have a spring semester next year, and am in practicum the rest of the time. Our practicum is marked/graded and is full time-does this still count towards the scholarship? During practicum I don't have any other classes but am still a full time student.

Also you can get this three times in your life right? I got it for last year so can qualify again next year?

I remember getting the Jason Lang back in the day. It was SICK because I'd never gotten a scholarship before that.

No, it's distributed annually so if you maintain a 3.2 from September 2011 to April 2012 you will get it in December 2012.

You don't get the Jason Lang while you're on practicum or co-op. Spring and Summer classes do not count toward the Jason Lang.

Yes, you can get it three times.

That sucks... guess I will only get it once then (better than none) but considering practicum is full time and UN-paid it would be an nice bonus.

Just wondering, if getting a 3.151gpa would be rounded up to 3.2gpa. Anyone know?

Haven't received mine yet, getting a little concerned.

I had a 2.88 (lol) first semester and a 3.74 second semester, which is a 3.31 over the entire year.

Do I need to get a 3.2 or better each term? or is it an average over the year?

v8killa

average!
