Thought I would share my Accord build with everyone here on beyond, since I personally think that what is under the hood is pretty unique (Most likely the only one in Canada and there a few of these modded engines in the states).

Last year I bought a 2005 accord v6 6-spd manual. I wasn't originally planning on modding the car, since I have never owned a car worth modding.

After a while I put a sound system into the car since I wasn't a real fan of the stock system, and became a member of v6 accord forum. I was reading through the info noticing that the ability of modding these cars was pretty limited (stupid cast headers). But none the less it got me interested, I had a bit of US$ laying around and decided, I wanted to do something to my car.

So I ended up getting a fujitia cold air intake, an after market j-pipe and pcd's. The results were nice and I was hooked on modding the car. After a lot of research, I found that it was possible to supercharge the car using the old eaton m90 supercharger and modifying it to fit the car, but originally I was against force induction, so I looked at some other options.

It came to light that by using the 3.5 mdx crankshaft and connecting rods, I would be able to make a 3.3L stroker engine out of my current J30A4. So I started buying the parts that I needed. After a while, my J30A4 started getting some piston slap and I look at my different options. It turned out that the TL 3.2 L block was a direct plug and play application. So I played around with the idea of getting one. It turned out it was cheaper for me to buy the block instead of fixing my current block, so I went ahead and purchased it.

After purchasing it I bought some TL pistons, and I had all the other parts to do a 3.5 L build. In the mean time I also bought some TL-S cams.

The day finally came to start putting together the block with the various parts.

After the block was ready, I went ahead and installed it into the car.

I have to say that the difference between the old 3.0L and the stroker 3.5L is night and day. I used to be able to spin the tires in 1st and chirp them going into second, but with the new engine, if I just giver, the car spins through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd no problem. Also, from the butt dyno, I have to say, that there is a lot more passing power as well, the car accelerates now in 6th like it used to in 4th before the engine build. I can't say how pleased I am with the way the build went, and the final results.

As I am hooked now on modding, I am looking to maybe turbo the car in the future, as I have seen some turbo'd v6's popping up.

I know it needs a drop....

I wish the car was still under warranty, you can't tell at all that it had an engine swap, as the intake manifold and headers are the stock j30a4 headers. Even if the J30A4 was stroked there is no way the Honda would have known that it was a 3.3 L stroker!

Also, the other thing that was a pain in the ass with this build was the FIC and the fact I can't run on regular anymore, no idea what my end CR is but I am assuming it is high, since I went from 89 x 86 on the stock TL motor, to 89 x 93 on the stroker motor. Also, if I had known in the end that I was going to start from a TL block, I would have went to a 3.6 L engine (3.7L MDX CRANK and rods increase my stroke to 96)

Cool build for sure! Next season assuming your CR isn't to crazy slap a big turbo on it. With all that displacement you will be able to spool something big!

Yeah I have no Idea what the CR is.... I believe the stock j30a4 is 10.xx:1 , I honestly think I am probably at 11.xx:1. But it is still boostable at that CR, as there have been other j30's that have been turboed no problem (320hp and 330 ftlbs was that individuals dyno I believe). The only downside is, that to do a single turbo, I need to relocate the battery, as there just isn't room in the engine bay, further more, the headers are cast into the block, so it would need to be all custom piping.

Oh well we will see what the future holds, I think in the near future, if Toma is still doing dynos I would really like to get my car dynoed and tuned just to see what I am working with.
