Hey guys. I got an interview coming up with Nabors in their Abandonrite division in calgary. Anyone have any info on how things are run? Culture? Etc..
Any input is appreciated.

Position is Operations Engineer in their Abandonrite divison.

A friend works for them in Calgary. He is an electrician and absolutely loves it. I hear they pay above industry as well, at least for journeymen. Good Luck

Can't tell you much about the company culture, but I've done work with a guy in Nabors Abandonrite to fix a gas migration problem and he was a real expert. Seems like it'd be an interesting area to work in.

Abandonments are a booming part of the business. There are a lot of wells out there.
I only deal with the drilling rig side, but those guys are pretty good. Usually run the cleanest crews.

Ah okay he hasn't been around that long...I don't know him well but I am glad to hear he likes it there. He is working with some great guys in that yard (I was there for 6 years before I got transferred into the office).

I would bet money on more like 1-2 years...he definitely wasn't there when I got transferred over early last year.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought he did his whole apprenticeship with Nabors and he just got his ticket this spring. Either way, were getting off topic haha.

I know the Nabors hitches suck, Unless your working for husky, 21 on 3 off got old fast on a service rig, working for nabors you are just a number IMO
