View Full Version : looking for help in deciphering this wiring diagram

i understand most of this easy enough. but I have 2 questions regarding this diagram.

The line between the volume and tone pots, it has something in line, a circle with a downward "C" in it. what does that represent?

and 2, on both of the tone pots, it looks to me like they want the ground wire to touch the pot as well before going to the ground. if that is right, why are the Volume pots not doing the same thing?

not sure on question one, but on question two they do just that, also read the note in low left hand corner

Capacitor. I was looking at your SG build thread and didn't see you take any pictures of any, but I assumed it's cause they're not a big enough deal to take pictures of

They are. The dot on the ground lines indicates it's been soldered to the back of the pot.

umm, nope, it is because i didn't know I was going to need any. now to figure out which ones I need...

I might still have a couple .022uf orange drop caps leftover from my last re-wiring (I have a habit of buying extras just in case). If you want them, just pay the $10 it cost me.

Another tip about soldering the back of pots, don't apply the heat on them too long or you'll cook them. Scuff up the backs a bit with sandpaper so the solder has something to stick to.
