I just shoot without asking, I'm going for candid shots so I don't want them posing or looking. I use a 135mm lens too though so there's quite a distance and I'm not easily spotted.
At night I use my 50mm so that it's less visible, plus most of the times I shoot from the hip, especially with a film RF once I zone focus it.

the girl was probably looking at my camera but must have thought I wasn't shooting as I had it on my chest.

MUCH better. I can't comment on the color since I'm at work and it looks different from one monitor to the next here, but if you were trying for a goalie shot the framing is damn near perfect.

it started with D80.. the D40/x and D60 does not have commander mode.. so i have to use the factory flash :(

First day out with the D700 IR. I have A LOT to learn. IR processing is nothing like regular processing. Lifepixel recommended Capture NX2 instead of LR or PS for proper white balance. All except the first are 3 shifted images merged together.

It looks like a HDR shot, vibrations from the engine running sucks for longer exposure shots.

That is very true however the only HDR was the pictures of the road and trees. The entire car/myself was shot using normal exposures and combined manually using layers in PS. It does require the camera to remain stationary for a fairly long time. The vibration from the motor might adjust the camera slightly and I would rather not use auto-align if i don't need to. Here is a example of 4 of the pictures used. There were 20-25 additional exposures on top of this.

debating whether go with 14 2.5 and 20 1.7.
read that the 14 2.5 is smaller, quieter and faster AF than the 20.17

If you want to try them let me know, but the 20mm is my favorite lens ever. I have the 14,20,and 45. I have owned the 14-140, 14-42, 45-200, and tons of legacy glass and the 20mm is my favorite by far. I might get the 25mm, but I will not sell the 20. The 14 is faster I guess and quieter, but not better IMO

My old m43 kit was the 9-18mm and 20mm 1.7 and both were great lenses. Couple that with the 45mm and you've got a decent kit.

Bought a lens hood for a 300mm 2.8 VR and cut it down to use on my 200mm f2. Loving it so far, makes the lens seem like it's half the size.

Not a lot yet, but work's been pretty damn busy lately. Just got my lenscoat for it last week. Was thinking a trip to the zoo to get used to it. Never been to the zoo in the winter, do they let all the animals freeze to death and then replace them in the spring?

A lot of the animals really like the snow actually, the Red Pandas are usually pretty active, the snow leopards of course love their life in the snow (shame that their enclosure sucks so much for pictures as they're one of my favorites), the tigers are Siberian Tigers so they are good, wolves are pretty active, etc. The african exhibit almost everything is inside the building with the exception of the Lions (they do have an inside den area, but the big rock they're always laying on is heated)...it's a fun place in the winter if you go on a day like today where it's just cold enough to get the animals moving without being so cold that you're freezing your ass off.

Next year I believe we are going to be getting some penguins and other arctic animals which I'm looking forward to.

Love the peaking mode and the voigtlander lens is a blast to use.
I definitely could live with either GF1 or NEX5 for street shooting although using the NEX5 makes me want to get a Leica (might be the lens).

Ya, the 6mm is like 10x the cost of the 8mm, and 10x the size. Not quite that baller :rofl:

Earl, I'll bring in that pentax adapter and a few lenses to add to the kit for the holidays. The 100mm 2.8 I was talking about should be good for your street shooting :thumbsup:

Finally got in for surgery this week on my messed up right arm. The after effects of the surgery bloody painful. Being put on vicodin for a couple of days was an interesting experience.

Two days after the surgery and I can finally once again feel my fingers in my right hand and it no longer hurts like bloody hell to hold a camera.

I should be back to normal in a few weeks time. Now that I'm all happy about this, in joy! Celebrate the 200mm F2.0!
