Are you looking for that kind of height or ones for lower cars? If you want ones like that I've heard princess auto carries something like them.

If you're not in a rush Canadian Tire puts them on a pretty good sale once ever two or three months.

FYI the ones you've shown are garbage. Decent if you have a lightweight vehicle, but I wouldn't trust anything over 3000lbs on them.

You want something with re-inforced ramps, like so

Otherwise you end up like nobb's dad.

i got the work done with jack and rail ties. i will go look around and other stores like princess auto to see if something better to be found.

I use the rubber ramps that the Corvette's on for my 4,000 lb 4Runner with no problems. Never tried it with all four wheels though.

Who in calgary would have ramps of those quality? I went to canadian tire and they had cheap plastic ones for $50 and princess auto had none. Im hoping to find a set for under $40.

The plastic ones at CanTire now are the Proramps. Never used them personally but they have decent reviews and I've seen them on sale for $35.

Those ones that the rear tires the Corvette look to be Rhino Ramps.

I've used the Rhino Ramps before and they feel very secure. I believe my uncle got them from CanTire a while back but they don't carry it anymore :guns:

I have a set I used on lighter cars but now that I have a vehicle at 4800lbs, I'm not comfortable using them. Might you I can actually fit under it without having to lift it up but would certainly make things a lot easier.

Where could I get those Rhino Gear ramps locally?

I've been using the plastic Canadian Tire ramps on my truck for a long time with no problems. Mind you I wouldn't trust them outside of a heated garage for a heavy vehicle.

Agreed I use them and they are great but they get super hard/brittle feeling in the cold. I've only used them twice in the winter and they made me a little nervous to say the least.

I use these:

But only because they double as loading ramps for my truck. The forward limiting block doesn't work. I have zero worries about them collapsing (driving off them, however, is a concern).

It doesn't take that much longer to set a vehicle up on stands and beats taking a chance on some ramps that might collapse on you. If you are going to lift a vehicle up on all 4 wheels, you might as well get jackstands so you can take the wheels off too. Ramps are only good for doing oil changes and other light shit. Not much else. I guess I'm a bit biased though as I use a 2 post hoist for my oil changes.

nothing will ever replace jack/stands, but ramps are great for quick stuff, I use mine all the time. I really hope people don't just rely on ramps though, I always throw jackstands underneath just in case and chock up the back wheels so I don't have to worry about it rolling back.

I use 2-piece Race Ramps. They aren't exactly cheap but if you do a lot of work under your car well worth it.

Those for ~ $300, I rather invest in a good jack and 2 sets of jack stands...

DIY? :dunno: Something like this? (http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r294/oldfartphoto/CarRamps1.jpg). My neighbour tried something like that but apparently it wasn't too stable so he ended up buying these (https://secure.buschurracing.com/catalog/images/tomiokaRAMPS.JPG) I think. Haven't had the chance to ask him whether they're any good yet.

I didn't pay $300 for mine.

I have a good jack and 2 sets of jack stands. The two piece ramps are still by far what I use the most. Once you have the car up on the ramp you remove the first piece and you can work under the car from the sides as well. It makes installing stuff like exhausts and downpipes a breeze and the ramps are much more stable than jack stands. Like I said before if you work under cars lots they are well worth the money.
