Who's doing your lift Nick? I have a balljoint separator but it doesn't look like the ones you posted.

Only pitman joints can be a pain to separate, but I hammer all joints long before I ever consider pullers.

It's always the stupid little things that slow a project down...

:werd:

if you have a pry bar, i usually stick it between the lower control arm and knuckle and pry up, and smash it with a hammer once, usually 1 hit is all it takes too!

Best tool I ever bought was an air chisel. Then I bought the pickle fork accessory. Then I never used another tool again for steering.

On rare occasion on the big rigs I have to pull out the 10 ton puller to get the drag link out. But using an air chisel on pretty much everything else is painless. If the air chisel don't work, you know you got your work cut out for you.

And remember, never heat steering components if your going to reuse them.

$760? Sure your not buying parts for a land rover?

The hit-the-knuckle-with-a-big-hammer trick is one of my favorites. It's saved me hours of effort and spared many a good TRE from the dreaded pickle fork.

They have a pickle fork accessory for the air chistle? Damn, I'm gonna look for one.

I have one - I hate it.

They look like a great idea but, in my opinion, they just don't work very well. I have a great air supply but I still end up using a plain old hammer most of the time.
