I have a 1993 Chebby 1/2 ton Z71 that lunched the 4L60E transmission in it. I am looking at either having it rebuilt, or buying a reman unit.

Anyone have any suggestions in Alberta?

BEST guy to do any Chev trans is Rick @ Rick's Racing Trans. Only guy that does a rebuild properly and changes out all the seals and bushings.

Ram's Tranmission and Auto.

Vic really takes care of his customers.

I am not 100%, but I think I heard that the new ones straight from Chevy are the only way to go cause of the crazy warranty, and they are 'cheap'.

If you're up for it, the rebuild kits are fairly cheap and not hard to do. I did it in my 92...

I am, but I can BUY a rebuilt tranny for $1500 or less with the performance goodies. I can get a regular reman special for $1k. Considering all of the parts and pieces I'd like to stuff in it myself, the cost savings becomes negligible to me doing the actual labour besides pulling and installing the trans.

Now, if I can get a reputable place to do it (and do it well) for around $1k with me dropping the trans off to them and then installing it myself, that's worth it vs me tearing apart the tranny and saving $200.
