Newport Beach Vs Santa Monica

Going down to LA in January just to hang out for a few days. Cant decide where to stay. Going down to just hang out and dont need to be close to a particular area.

Santa Monica

Newport Beach

Redondo Beach

La Jolla (North San diego)

any recommendations..

I went down in May. Stayed accross the street from Disney for 3 days then rented a car and stayed in Santa Monica for 3 days.

:werd: a really weird place. But Santa Monica is a nice place to check out too. Good shopping there.
My wife and I stayed in Marina Del Rey and it was a 10 minute walk to the Venice Beach pier. There is a lot of great places to eat in and around Marina Del Rey.

I'm very down with Venice Beach.

Probably one of my favourite attractions in the LA area.

Laguna Beach is pretty cool. Its a neat little "town" with "banff" type shops.

I really liked Labuan beach and Dana point when I was there, santamonica was cool too, but I found it more laid back in orange county

There is an awesome outdoor premium mall in Newport Beach that's worth going to. But it's a bit far from the beach area if hoping to be really close to the water.

Was there a few weeks ago, over 100 ppl lined up to play in a snow exhibit :nut:

Anyone who's going to be in the area should checkout the Pepperdine campus in Malibu :drool:
