I have been fascinated with this car my family owned for a short time and I can't figure out what it is. Picture was taken early to mid '80s. Any ideas??

A red one like it cleaned up at Laguna Seca at the Monterey Historics this year. ;)

It's a 1980 Monza Spyder. The front wrap-around spoiler and two tone paint were 1980 only. The V-8s were dropped for 1980 as well (the 1975 Monza California emissions 350 V8 has the dubious of being the biggest turd of a 350 ever-125 net hp).
I had a 1979 Pontiac Sunbird 305/4 speed (same car under the skin) and for a V8 powered light car it sure was slow! And nose heavy.
Good luck finding a good one-most were beat on pretty hard and suffer from 1970s GM build quality.

I remember hearing on the V8 models you needed to undo the engine mounts and jack the engine up to change the sparkplugs, it was a tight fit lol. Buick also made a version of this called the Skyhawk.

First generation International Harvester Cub Cadet riding mower.

We had one, too, as my father was an IH dealer for over 50 years.

Only pic I found online is this one. You can see the IH logo on the steering stalk:

Cool car. I should dig up some of my old childhood car pics. I was a total ricer, rode in a 1st gen Celica, and 1st gen Prelude growing up.

I always liked the Monza, though I was a fan of the coupe more than the fastback.

Interestingly enough, the Monza became the Cavalier in 1982. Went from a slow ass turd to a fuel efficient, slow ass turd.

Cool car though!

Awesome. As far as I know this mower is still being used at the golf course my family built in the early 80's. (30+ years of service?? Try that with a Craftsman mower). My grandfather was also an IHC dealer when I was growing up and all my first drives were in International pickups out in the field.
