I am looking to expand more into oil and gas (we do automation systems - mostly for concrete plants right now). We have done some work with some service companies, but I need to network with the right people to get a chance to bid on some of these projects.

I've found the concrete associations to be very valuable for business and am wondering what there is in Calgary that's oil and gas based and not a complete waste of time.

CADE is pretty active, and a lot of the service companies that service the drillng sector are part of it.

I work for an automation vendor and belong to the CHOA, Canadian Heavy Oil Association. Very active, lots of events, and really good attendence at the events. Most of my clients attend the meetings, lunches, conferences etc., so I go there all the time to network.
