Jimmy's AA in the NW has a pretty good selection, its on like 10th ave and 10th street or something like that. Most head shops carry Shisha.

Al-Fakher FTW. Try Salams grocery on 17th Ave SE, I found they have the best prices. Or Green Cedars.

buy from Americuh. I was just down in Seattle and it was 7 bucks for 50 grams, compared to like 30~35 in Calgary.

Although, I only live 40 minutes from the border. we could possibly set up a group buy with me bringing to Calgary.

Thanks G-Zus I recognize that brand name. Heard it mentioned a couple times. Anywhere sell that brand in or around downtown?

Anywhere on 17th ave SW?

I usually Buy tubs from a small grocery store on temple drive and 52nd ST NE. you have to ask for it at the counter. It's ALFAKHER brand of sheesha too.

In the SW, theres a place called shaganappi grocery or something on 37st and 17 ave beside the timmies.

You can order online from the states (forgot the site, where I used to order). You can only order so much before the border agency wants a chunk of the pie. I ordered ~1.3kg last year and got slammed with a $500 bill from them.

What about coals? Would the same stores on 17 SE have them?

Yep, they should have the coals or any middle eastern grocery store sells them

Online is the cheapest. I use to buy in calgary when they charged $25 for 250g of al fahker in temple, now theyre charging me almost $40. I buy Starbuzz, Fumari, and Tangiers online for $14 for 250g. Saves me money in the long run but the only thing that sucks is the wait and the chance of getting taxed if they dont disguise the package enough lol. Go to Hookah-john.com or even the brands website.

Jimmy's A&A is the biggest ripoff, he charges people $80 for a 250g tub of Al Fahker. i bought my hookah from there when I was a sheesha noob.

I buy from Mirage downtown, they charge $30 for the 250g, and I think it's $10 for a box of coals. I like the Al Fahker coals way better than the 3 kings.

Sweet, need a new place for Coal. The place I used to buy from always changed the price on the freaking coals. Was paying $14-17/ box depending on the day.

Same with me! Use coco nara's or chronic hookah coals. By far the 2 best coals for shisha. Gotta order online though. One coal lasts about 45-50 mins. A box of 108 pieces for $13.99

Don't want to start a new thread so.. Where is everyone buying their shisha now a days? I went to a few places I used to buy them from and they all stopped selling them

Online. Most places in calgary either got busted or shut down. If you do find a place they'll probably charge you $35-$45 for a 250g tin. Use hookahjohn or 5starhookah. Cheap shipping and mine always gets through customs no problem. Takes about a week to get here.

I got away with it for a while..then one day I got a slip to pick up my order at the post office. CBSA wanted $500 in duties if I wanted my shisha  :english:. (They charge $300/kg) I had to return it.

That happened to me too! They sent the package back cause i didnt want to pay. Then I gave Starbuzz a call. And they reshipped the package for free and laballed it cooking molasses and it got through fine! I always ask them to label it scented candles or cooking molasses and its worked every since **fingers crossed**

Holy crap I didn't realize that duties were that high, I almost ordered online yesterday.. I found a place called Tobacco Outlet in Bridgeland that on their website it shows that they sell Al Fakher shisha, I'm going to call them in a bit and see what the damage is

MugenBB6
05-29-2014, 09:30 AM
If youre worried about pricing, those websites i mentioned probably have some of the cheapest prices i have seen. Even their KM's are super cheap. And they always throw in a bunch of mini samples if you place a large order.

So I called Tobacco Outlet and they sell 2 brands of shisha there, Al Fakher and some other brand, pricing seems reasonable @ $31 (quoted me over the phone) I'm assuming its for a 250g, but I'm gonna swing by later

calgarycigars.com if anyone is interested

Hookahjohn and 5star sell AF for i think $12(250g). And starbuzz for $18-$20ish(250g).

Cigarshops/smokeshops charge you almost $20 or more for 100g. And its probably crappy nahkla or herbal.
