Hey Beyond,

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h363/garageboxauto/Logo-Beyond.jpg

We at Garagebox Auto Innovations want to know what Beyond is looking for in terms of Summer 2012. I know everyone has their awesome builds coming up and we're very excited to see them, assist in them and see this tuner scene grow but we're also wondering:

What would you like us to do/see in Summer 2012 regarding our Tuner Scene?

Unfortunately, there isn't a Track anymore -- HOWEVER we can always throw ideas down here and since alot of people are pushing for a new Track - we can always incorporate whatever is suggested here. I know there's alot of speculation of a new track, be it Balzac, Red Deer.... etc - but what else?

That being said, since we are a Tuner and Performance based tuner shop - we would like to cater to you all. Be it Swap Meets, Track Days (this ones a project...), Things like Beyond meets, AutoX and so forth.

We want to help the tuner scene grow, and try our best to incorporate every idea for Summer 2012! Let's bring the Car Community alive as usual. We're here to help :D.

So:

What would you like us to do/see in Summer 2012 regarding our Tuner Scene?

This can be anything, be it someone BBQ'ing at a Beyond Meet, Cruises (although they're risky), Shop Nights... things like that

Fire away Beyond! This will give us at Garagebox time to plan and see what our options are.

Cheers!

Swap meets are a great idea, I'm sure everyone here has some random parts for old projects that they would like to give to a good home (without the kijiji nonsense!! :nut: )

I'll look into organizing a huge one! Maybe we can collaborate this into a huge Car Show or something.

Everything sounds awesome. We are going to need things to keep us busy with no track. Even organized cruises to the mountains or something would be fun.

AUTOCROSS

Ever since we lost the Grey Eagle Casino venue we only have a fairly small portion of the parking lot in Deerfoot Mall and the pavement there has seen better days, not only that but when 50-60 participants show up it makes it very cramped.

Hard to beleive that in a city of over a million people with as many automotive enthusiasts as we have, we only have one venue in a shitty parking lot in the NE. I for one would love to see the sport get some more attention especially since now it's the only thing we've got in this city. And seeing a shop jump on board to help out with that would be awesome, just my $0.02

We should really try out some Gymkhana.

It's new, exciting to watch, doesn't cost alot to race, relatively slow speeds mean no major accidents, etc.

This is something that's in line with what you guys do (some grip, some drift) and it's fun!

:werd: Since there is no track Autocross is the only way I will be able to beat on my car, I don't wanna travel to another city for 10hours to track my car but let's see what ercchry has up his sleeves for a track day!

Trying to arrange track days was such a pain. Jr and I would stress out because people would never pay until the last minute. Thank god were not dealing with that next summer.

Any parking lots that aren't busy during the day on weekends.....which rules out a lot of lots unfortunately. So that pretty much only leaves the parking lots at proffesional buildings and casinos :dunno:

If you plan to do road course events in Edmonton I know that a few people including myself would be interested.

Ray, I personally would love to see more communication within the enthusiast community. I always wanted to throw a parking lot party with a DJ, some dope music, people showing off their cars, maybe a BBQ. Something for people to look forward to coming to. Face it, beyond meets are boring and thats why they faded out (even though ive never been to one) Even a swap meet is kind of a dumb idea because anything and everything you need is available on ebay.

Lets get the ball rolling on this if your interested, im willing to sponsor an event - parents can mass produce posters and promo stuff - it would be a great way for shops to promote their business if they held one in their parking lot

It depends what you consider "dope" music...I'd say skip the music, sure way to make a lot of people not interested..
I like the swap meet idea, I have tons of stuff that is importcentric, that if I carted up to the Red Deer swap meet, Jethro would think I was building a time machine...And who wants to be the low baller douche in person?

I'd be down for anything as long as it doesn't involve driving a long distance.

I mean, sure it would be cool if there was a track to go to in red deer or balzac but for guys like me who go there for an hour or two to watch well, that wouldn't be worth racking up kilometers for.

- More write-up on projects.
- Product reviews (of actual installs or from the owner/installer POV, not Markham style copy and pasting what's written on manufacturer's box)

Good luck with your business venture.

I'd like to see a staged takeover of the south ring-road before it becomes open to public.

+1... Somehow we have to spin it into a lawful right to protest.
