Yep, exact same number. I get it on my work phone then immediately after I get it on my personal phone.

Indeed it's the captain, you've won a cruise.

I get 2 calls a day minimum from this number. Theres a HUGE hate site for this number on the web. i hit ignore on the call but it dials right back. Im on Virgin wireless and kind of choked how my number made it to Texas. Apparently alot of Rogers customers complaining as well.:guns:

If you listen there is a way to talk to someone, they used to call me all the time until I got through to someone and asked if I could purchase my plane ticket using the visa I stole from my mom they declined and stopped calling back. :dunno:

I have a "contact" created for this number, goes straight to VM ... no ringing at all.

I think it's the texans being dyslexic. Cause the area codes down there are 972 and 430. So it's just auto dialing 403 by "mistake" instead of the 430

It's pissing me off though. I'm going to call in and block it since they call at least 7 times a week.

Is there a do not call list we can enter or is it only eligible for Canadian numbers only?

Haha I was actually just reading about this. Sue them:

http://www.killthecalls.com/suing-telemarketers.html

From my limited understanding, US companies are bound to the TCPA act and Canadian companies to CRTC rules. Apparently you can formally request that they add you to their do not call list such that if they call again, legal action can be taken in a small claims court. I wonder how much effort this takes...

I've been getting calls from this number almost every single day for about 2 months now. When I finish switching our home phone over to callcentric I'll be adding a rule blocking this number.

I hate these assholes. I used to stay on the line to tell them to take me off their list but all the ones lately haven't given you the chance to talk to a real person.

Can someone explain the existence of this company or what purpose they serve the universe? I have been getting calls on this number for months to both my work and personal cell. Do they offer any service other than to piss a guy off? Can I actually buy something of value? Like who comes up with the idea to call everyone on the planet and then not actually provide a person to talk to or service? Just venting but it is mind bottling to me.

Myself and 5 others that I work with get a calls from this number as well... Some days its within 1-2mins of each other.

I have been getting called for months now! Is there a blocker app for Androids, or just iPhone?

I'm on Bell and I get the call at least three times a day during the week and once or twice a day on weekends. It's been like this for 4 or 5 weeks now.

I finally had it with these calls from Texas and added my number to the national do not call list here:
https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/insnum-regnum-eng

Not sure if it will work though. :dunno:

All android phones I have ever played with have a built in black list

Gotta love The Captain. As soon as I hear the horn, I forward it to my coworkers. The coworker then forwards it again. I think the record so far is 8 forwards for that damn automated message.

I get these calls 2-3 times a day as well. Anyone know how to block them on a blackberry? It's fine to hit ignore, but when you constantly get called by them, you really just want it to stop!

Add them as a contact on your mobile device and set a custom ring tone... ie SILENT

Lol, you just signed up to get twice as many calls as you did before. The national DNCL, is a complete and utter failure.

I've been getting them on my Telus home number (landline) but not on my Telus cell .... so far.

My home phone (hardware, not the service) has a way to block numbers, so that's what I've done with Captain Texas.

I used to get them every second day about 4 weeks ago and now it finally stopped!

These calls are two things. First of all, your caller ID is of no use. They 'Spoof' the caller ID, what that means is they put in a bogus number that they stole from someone (you could be next if you answer your phone!) This way you can not call them back. You can read more at the link below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing

Second, if you answer and get no one at the other end, it's a sequential dialer searching for active numbers. What it does is dial ALL the number in an area code or prefix.

The line rings, you pick up and it has voice activated equipment that can detect when it hears a voice, be it actually you or your answering machine, it now 'knows' it has a active line. It adds it to its list, hangs up on you and progress to the next number. You phone number is worth alot of money! The computer doesn't give a hoot where you are from, they are spoofing the phone company and dialing for free! So, what can you do about this?...NOTHING!!!! Call the local phone company or your wireless provider, ask them...some will tell you they know nothing about it, others will tell you there is nothing they can do. Pretty sad when the phone companies can't even control their own networks!!!!

If you can do nothing about it then obviously we would need new laws regarding this issue.
