This might belong in the photography section, if it does, please move it :)

Does anyone know anything about this topic?
Any companies in Calgary use this technique?
Any tutorials on the net that show the process? (looked but couldn't find)
Any online stores sell prints of holographic images?

I bought a framed holographic photo of superman back when I was a kid (maybe 10 or so) that I still have, and I was always wanting to know how it was made and if a person could do it themselves at home.

You can't tell from the photo but the arm appears to extend outside of the frame and the body is deep inside the frame.

this video shows a quick look at a professional setup but it doesn't give much details and doesn't relate to any sort of DIY.
